Job summary

Dexcom Corporation is seeking a Manager of Test Engineering in San Diego to lead the Hardware R&D Testing Team from feasibility through DVT, ensuring objectives are met and improvements are implemented.

You will guide testing strategy, mentor staff, and drive continuous improvement in test processes, leveraging deep knowledge of medical device verification and regulatory requirements. This role offers growth in a pioneering CGM company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 8-12 years of industry experience.
• 2-5 years of management or lead experience.
• Experience in medical device testing, design, development, and/or verification.
• Knowledge of ISO 13485 and 21 CFR 820.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Meet The Team

The Manager of Test Engineering is accountable for leadership and success of the Hardware R&D testing team which is responsible for execution of testing from early stage feasibility through completion of DVT for Dexcom’s growing portfolio of products. As the leader of the Hardware R&D Testing Team, the individual manages the team\'s performance to assure meeting technical objectives and establishes midterm as well as long-term goals.

• Experienced technical leader familiar with industry best practices in test execution
• Highly accountable manager that delivers results while defining challenging goals and objectives.
• Manage multiple high priority requests from competing stakeholder and deploy the team to maximize business impact
• The ability to seamlessly lead and mentor the team in investigations of testing failures.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to modernize, scale and optimize test processes and methodologies.

What Makes You Successful

• A technical degree in engineering or related scientific field. Advanced degree preferred.
• 3+ years of leadership experience in medical device testing, design, development, and/or verification.
• Knowledge in structured problem solving, test method validation, statistical analysis, and related technical skills.
• A good understanding of emotional intelligence with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• A situational leader that flexes styles for the individual and task.
• Knowledge of ISO 13485 and 21 CFR 820
• Results-oriented, self-disciplined, fast-paced, motivated individual that requires minimal supervision.
