Job summary

Tallgrass MLP Operations, LLC is seeking a Manager of Systems Integration to coordinate systems engineering and integration across complex projects in energy infrastructure. Qualifications

  • Experience drafting or managing systems engineering plans and verification matrices.
  • Familiarity with lifecycle management, quality systems and reliability practices.
  • Experience with complex infrastructure, industrial operations or regulated environments.
  • Certifications such as INCOSE or PMP are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Execute systems integration activities across the project lifecycle from concept to operations.
  • Coordinate and ensure follow-through on commercial terms related to technical plans and interfaces.
  • Translate needs into actionable technical requirements with engineers and stakeholders.
  • Maintain traceability between customer needs, requirements, designs, tests and deliverables.
  • Coordinate multi-team integration and manage dependencies and interfaces.
  • Support configuration management, change control, and governance processes.
  • Track KPIs and elevate issues to the Senior Director with mitigation options.
  • Identify risks and propose cost-effective mitigation balancing schedule and performance.
  • Help implement scalable standards, processes, and tools for systems integration.

Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a Manager of Systems Integration to execute and coordinate systems engineering and integration practices for complex technical and operational initiatives, while aligning technical work with commercial obligations. This role reports to the Senior Director of Systems Integration and supports disciplined technical execution across the project lifecycle.


The successful candidate will bring structure to complex projects by helping define requirements, manage interfaces, coordinate cross-functional technical work, assess risks, support trade-off decisions, and ensure solutions are designed, verified, and implemented with lifecycle performance in mind. The Manager works under the direction of the Senior Director to operationalize standards, drive day-to-day integration activities, and ensure follow-through across teams.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience developing or managing Systems Engineering Management Plans, technical baselines, verification matrices, system architectures, or integrated schedules.

  • Familiarity with engineering standards, lifecycle management, operational readiness, quality systems, or reliability/supportability practices.

  • Experience with complex infrastructure, industrial operations, software-enabled systems, logistics, energy, utilities, or regulated environments.

  • INCOSE certification, PMP, or related professional certification is a plus.

Working Conditions:


  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.

  • Required to carry a cell phone and be available to respond during working and non-working hours.

  • The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, including credit report for certain positions, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

Above the minimum requirements; not required but advantageous in this position:



  • Familiarity with Tallgrass' pipelines systems and operations.

  • Direct work experience in the energy industry including a comprehensive understanding of the interrelated gas/oil control, field operations, and gas/oil scheduling processes.

Compensation:


  • The annual salary range for this position will be $147,500 - $184,400/annually.


Role Responsibilities


  • Execute systems integration activities across the project lifecycle, from concept and requirements definition through design, verification, execution, commissioning, and operations, under the guidance of the Senior Director of Systems Integration.

  • Coordinate and ensure follow-through on commercial agreement terms as they relate to technical plans, requirements baselines, system breakdown structures, interface definitions, verification plans, and decision records.

  • Work with engineers, project managers, operations teams, vendors, and other stakeholders to translate needs into actionable technical requirements.

  • Maintain traceability between customer needs, operational requirements, system designs, test/verification evidence, and final deliverables.

  • Coordinate integration across multiple teams and disciplines to ensure dependencies, interfaces, and technical assumptions are understood and managed.

  • Support configuration management, change control, technical documentation, and governance processes.

  • Track measures of effectiveness, measures of performance, and technical performance indicators to monitor solution maturity and readiness; elevate issues and recommendations to the Senior Director.

  • Identify technical risks and recommend mitigation strategies that balance cost, schedule, performance, reliability, supportability, and long-term value.

  • Help implement and refine scalable systems integration standards, processes, and tools as directed by the Senior Director.


What We Are Looking For


  • Experience in systems engineering, engineering management, technical program management, integration, operations, infrastructure, technology, logistics, or a related field.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical information and translate it into clear requirements, plans, risks, and decisions.

  • Strong understanding of lifecycle planning, requirements management, verification, risk management, interface management, or configuration management.

  • Ability to facilitate cross-functional discussions and align stakeholders with different priorities.

  • Strong analytical, communication, facilitation, and documentation skills.

  • Comfortable working in a growing organization where processes may need to be created, refined, and adopted.

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, technology, systems engineering, business, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.

  • 7+ years of experience in engineering, project management, or a combination.
