Job summary

Mohawk Industries, a Fortune 500 global flooring leader, seeks a senior fleet procurement professional to oversee the complete process of acquiring trucks and trailers for our commercial fleet. Responsibilities

• Fleet Budget Management: Develop, manage, and monitor the annual fleet procurement budget to ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Vehicle Specification Development: Lead the development and standardization of vehicle specifications in partnership with senior leadership, fleet management, operations, and safety teams.
• Supplier Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strategic relationships with leasing providers, OEMs, upfitters, and other key suppliers.
• Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations for vehicle leases, purchases, and related fleet services with leasing companies and OEM suppliers.
• Procurement Compliance: Ensure all fleet procurement activities comply with corporate policies, financial controls, legal requirements, and applicable industry regulations.
• Fleet Life Cycle Management: Direct the complete fleet asset life cycle, including acquisition, deployment, utilization, maintenance coordination, replacement planning, and asset disposal.
• Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze fleet utilization, operating costs, lifecycle trends, and performance metrics to identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational improvement.

What We Need

Responsible for overseeing the entire process of acquiring trucks and trailers for Mohawk’s commercial fleet

What You’ll Do

• Fleet Budget Management: Develop, manage, and monitor the annual fleet procurement budget to ensure alignment with business objectives. Track expenditures, evaluate financial performance, and implement cost-control measures to optimize vehicle acquisition and overall fleet investment.
• Vehicle Specification Development: Lead the development and standardization of vehicle specifications in partnership with senior leadership, fleet management, operations, and safety teams. Ensure vehicle configurations meet operational requirements, safety standards, regulatory requirements, and total cost of ownership objectives.
• Supplier Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strategic relationships with leasing providers, OEMs, upfitters, and other key suppliers. Monitor supplier performance against contractual commitments, service level expectations, and quality standards while proactively addressing issues to ensure continuity of supply and service.
• Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations for vehicle leases, purchases, and related fleet services with leasing companies and OEM suppliers. Secure favorable commercial terms, including pricing, delivery schedules, maintenance programs, warranty coverage, and service agreements, while ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
• Procurement Compliance: Ensure all fleet procurement activities comply with corporate policies, financial controls, legal requirements, and applicable industry regulations. Maintain accurate documentation and support audit readiness while promoting ethical and compliant procurement practices.
• Fleet Life Cycle Management: Direct the complete fleet asset life cycle, including acquisition, deployment, utilization, maintenance coordination, replacement planning, and asset disposal. Develop long-term fleet strategies that maximize asset performance, reliability, and return on investment.
• Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze fleet utilization, operating costs, lifecycle trends, and performance metrics to identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational improvement. Provide oversight of asset utilization, substitute vehicle deployment, and rental vehicle usage. Lead quarterly fleet performance reviews with fleet management and operational stakeholders to support data-driven planning, procurement, and optimization decisions.

Qualification Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• 6-8 years relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
