Job summary

NextEra Energy Resources in the United States seeks a senior professional to assist in evaluating, negotiating, and executing structured energy transactions, including renewable power purchase agreements and data center development agreements.

You will coordinate with internal teams to structure deals, quantify risks, and prepare internal analyses for senior leadership. The role requires 8+ years of experience; Master's, CFA, and CPA are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in structured energy transactions.
• Preferred: Master's Degree, CFA, CPA.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with potential customers and originators to understand needs and propose structures.
• Analyzes and develops deal structures including risk mitigation to quantify risks.
• Oversees and negotiates contracts and related documents with counterparties.
• Prepares presentations for senior leadership to support vetting process.
• Coordinates with Tax, Legal, Credit, Accounting and Risk Management teams.
• Presents deals to senior leadership seeking approval of structure.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Position Specific Description

Assists in the evaluation, negotiation and execution of structured energy transactions including renewable power purchase agreements and data center development agreements.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Communicates directly with potential customers and front-line originators to gain an understanding of customer needs to propose solutions, and/or negotiate deal structures and documents that meet those needs
• Analyzes and develops different structures for the customer including risk mitigation solutions to ensure risks are appropriately managed and quantified
• Oversees, guides, and negotiates the contract and related documents that will be signed between the Company and the counterparty opportunities
• Prepares presentations and other internal communications for senior leadership to guide and support the internal vetting process
• Coordinates with internal departments involved in the transaction such as Tax, Legal, Credit, Accounting and Risk Management
• Presents deal to senior leadership, seeking approval of the proposed deal structure
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
