Job description

Manager, Strategic Planning

Department: Accounting and Finance

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Los Angeles HQ

Compensation: $150,000 - $165,000 / year

Description

SKIMS is a solutions-oriented brand creating the next generation of underwear, loungewear, shapewear, and essentials. We are setting new standards by delivering technically innovative, comfort-driven products with elevated design for everybody.

At the intersection of culture, innovation, and commerce, SKIMS is a global brand redefining modern apparel. Our teams are built on creativity, collaboration, and operational excellence, and we are committed to fostering an inclusive, high-performance environment where ambitious, curious, and values-driven individuals can do the best work of their careers.

As we continue to scale globally, our HQ teams play a critical role in shaping strategy, building world-class infrastructure, and driving sustainable growth across markets.

The Manager of Strategic Planning will play a critical role in driving the company’s enterprise planning and business reporting cadence as the business continues to scale. This person will help bring structure, clarity, and consistency to how the organization plans, reports, and makes decisions across senior leadership forums. They will own and improve key enterprise meetings, including Monthly Business Reviews and Quarterly Business Reviews, while also supporting broader strategic planning initiatives led by the CFO’s office. This is a highly cross-functional role for someone who can operate at both altitude and detail — someone who can connect the dots across functions, and improve processes and materials over time.

Key Responsibilities

Own and improve enterprise business reporting

Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of key enterprise reporting forums, including the Monthly Business Review and Quarterly Business Review.

This includes:

  • Managing the end-to-end cadence for MBRs and QBRs
  • Coordinating across senior functional leaders to gather inputs, align narratives, and ensure materials are clear and decision-ready
  • Improving the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of reporting materials over time
  • Applying learnings from prior meetings to continuously evolve the format, content, and process
  • Ensuring meetings are focused on the right business questions, performance trends, risks, opportunities, and decisions

Support enterprise-level strategic planning

Partner with Finance and senior leadership on core strategic planning initiatives, including the long-range plan and other enterprise planning processes.

This includes:

  • Supporting the development of the long-range plan in partnership with Finance and business leaders
  • Running market, growth, and share analyses to help inform strategic priorities
  • Synthesizing data from key internal and external sources into clear insights for the CFO and executive leadership team
  • Helping translate business performance, market context, and company priorities into compelling strategic narratives
  • Support in translating executive-level priorities, strategy updates, and key takeaways from MBR/QBR forums into clear, appropriately tailored communications for broader senior teams, helping maintain consistency and coherence across the organization.
  • Supporting the operating rhythm around annual, quarterly, and ad-hoc planning cycles

Drive CFO-led strategic initiatives

Support ad-hoc strategic planning initiatives that originate from the CFO’s office.

This person should be comfortable moving between structured recurring processes and more ambiguous strategic work. They should be able to quickly frame a problem, gather the right inputs, build the analysis, and create clear materials for executive discussion.

Examples may include:

  • Market sizing and market share analysis
  • Growth opportunity assessment
  • Cross-functional strategic initiatives
  • Executive presentations and board-level materials
  • Business performance deep dives
  • Planning process improvements

Reporting structure

This role will report into the CFO’s organization and work closely with the Snr Director FP&A, executive leadership team, and senior functional leaders across the business. The Manager of Strategic Planning will serve as a key connective point between Finance, Strategy, and functional leadership — helping ensure the company’s enterprise planning and reporting processes are clear, consistent, and effective as the business scales.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

The ideal candidate has experience in strategy, strategic planning, business operations, corporate strategy, or finance-adjacent strategic roles within a relevant industry. They should bring strong analytical horsepower, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build executive-ready materials. They should also be excited to join a fast-growing, scaling organization where processes are still evolving and the work requires both structure and flexibility.

They will likely have:

  • Experience in strategy, corporate strategy, strategic planning, business operations, or a related function
  • Industry experience in a relevant consumer, retail, apparel, beauty, or high-growth brand environment
  • Strong analytical skills, including comfort with market, share, growth, and business performance analysis
  • Familiarity with Looker or similar BI tools is a plus, with the ability to pull, interpret, and synthesize data independently across key business reporting and planning processes.
  • Excellent slide-writing and executive communication skills
  • Experience working cross-functionally with senior leaders
  • Ability to bring structure to ambiguity and improve processes over time
  • Strong project management skills and ownership mentality
  • Comfort balancing recurring planning cadences with spontaneous, high-priority strategic work
  • Interest in being part of a fast-growing, scaling organization
  • High attention to detail, strong judgment, and ability to operate with discretion
