Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Manager, Strategic Partnerships based in the United States.

As a Manager, Strategic Partnerships, you will help expand philanthropic support and advance financial inclusion for underserved communities worldwide.
You will cultivate meaningful relationships with individual donors, philanthropic advisors, and strategic giving partners to grow long-term engagement and funding.
Through tailored outreach, thoughtful stewardship, and compelling storytelling, you will connect donor interests with measurable social impact.
You will collaborate across fundraising, finance, marketing, communications, and technology teams to strengthen donor experiences and optimize engagement strategies.
Using data, impact stories, and donor insights, you will develop persuasive proposals, reports, and communications that inspire continued support.
This remote opportunity offers the chance to contribute to a mission-driven, globally connected nonprofit environment that values inclusion, accountability, and innovation.
You will play an important role in building sustainable philanthropic relationships and expanding access to financial opportunities for communities around the world.

Accountabilities
  • Manage donor relationships and engagement: Oversee a portfolio of primarily mid-level and major-gift donors and prospects, developing personalized engagement, solicitation, and stewardship strategies that strengthen relationships and create pathways to increased philanthropic support.

  • Develop strategic giving partnerships: Build relationships with donor-advised fund sponsors, philanthropic advisors, and other influential charitable giving professionals. Create resources and engagement strategies that help colleagues strengthen these partnerships and identify new funding opportunities.

  • Enhance the donor experience: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve website journeys, digital communications, and specialized giving opportunities, including managed lending options for donors seeking deeper engagement.

  • Represent the organization externally: Participate in donor meetings, advisor conversations, conferences, and other thought leadership opportunities. Coordinate with internal subject matter experts to communicate the organization's mission, programs, and impact effectively.

  • Plan donor engagement events: Organize and deliver virtual and in-person donor events that deepen existing relationships, strengthen awareness, and generate qualified prospects for future philanthropic support.

  • Coordinate cross-functional initiatives: Work closely with finance and strategic partnerships colleagues to ensure accurate gift documentation, appropriate tracking of donor commitments, and consistent stewardship practices.

  • Support impact-driven fundraising materials: Partner with relevant teams to gather impact data, borrower stories, and program information, translating them into compelling proposals, reports, presentations, newsletters, and other donor-facing resources.

  • Maintain donor records and reporting: Keep customer relationship management (CRM) records accurate, monitor relationship activity, track prospect pipelines, and measure progress toward fundraising and engagement objectives.

  • Lead donor communications and marketing initiatives: Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to ensure consistent messaging across donor audiences and channels. Write, edit, and refine persuasive communications that connect donor priorities with organizational impact.

  • Evaluate and optimize outreach: Analyze campaign and event results, assess donor engagement and lead generation, and use performance insights to strengthen outreach strategies and improve calls to action.

Requirements
  • Relevant professional experience: At least five years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, strategic partnerships, donor relations, or a related field, including direct responsibility for cultivating and stewarding individual donors and prospects.

  • Donor development expertise: Demonstrated ability to create donor engagement strategies, build lasting philanthropic relationships, and guide prospects toward meaningful financial commitments.

  • Knowledge of philanthropic giving: Familiarity with donor-advised funds, philanthropic advisors, and major-gift fundraising. Direct experience engaging these audiences is an advantage.

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills: Ability to translate complex programs, organizational priorities, and impact data into clear, compelling proposals, reports, presentations, and donor communications.

  • Cross-functional collaboration: Experience working effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders, coordinating projects, and managing multiple priorities independently in a dynamic environment.

  • CRM and data proficiency: Comfort using CRM platforms such as Salesforce to maintain donor records, track engagement, generate reports, evaluate performance, and refine fundraising strategies.

  • Relationship-building and communication: Strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and the confidence to represent an organization professionally when engaging donors, philanthropic advisors, and external partners.

  • Project management and organization: Excellent planning, prioritization, and follow-through skills, with the ability to manage complex assignments while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Strategic thinking and initiative: A proactive, analytical approach to identifying opportunities, solving problems, improving donor experiences, and supporting sustainable fundraising growth.

  • Mission alignment: A genuine commitment to financial inclusion, equity, diversity, and respect for the communities served, along with a desire to contribute to meaningful social impact.
