Job summary

PJM Interconnection, LLC is seeking a Manager, Stakeholder Process & Engagement to lead stakeholder committee activities, facilitate meetings, and provide strategic guidance across the organization. The role reports to the Exec. Director, Member Services and partners with leadership across GMS to support stakeholder outreach and engagement.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in stakeholder processes, plus 2+ years in leadership. MBA preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience, with 2+ years in stakeholder process.
• 2+ years in a managerial/supervisory role.
• Understanding of PJM’s core business functions in operations, markets and planning.
• MBA preferred.
• 3-7 years of leadership experience preferred.
• Ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and staff.

Responsibilities

• Ensure stakeholders understand and are guided through the committee process.
• Coordinate PJM committee structure management and Issues Tracking.
• Respond to inquiries from PJM participants, regulators and stakeholders about the stakeholder process.
• Maintain open lines of communication with PJM management.
• Provide leadership to team members to meet PJM and Stakeholder Affairs needs.
• Lead efforts to evolve the stakeholder process to meet complex issues.
• Demonstrate strong communication to build stakeholder relationships.
• Operate and support tools for the stakeholder process.
• Collaborate with Sr. Manager of Stakeholder Affairs and subject matter experts.

Job description

Flexible Work Arrangement: Hybrid - Audubon, PA

The Manager, Stakeholder Process & Engagement (SPE) will report through the Member Services sub-division under the guidance and direction of the Exec. Director, Member Services. The Manager, SPE will partner with the Sr. Manager of Stakeholder Affairs, other leadership in GMS as needed and Manager of Corporate Events to partner on stakeholder-related activities including but not limited to committee coordination, meeting support and logistics, voting support and issues tracking for all of the stakeholder groups within PJM.

The Manager, SPE will support all areas of stakeholder process and engagement, including implementing rules and procedures relating to the stakeholder process in Manual 34 and the Operating Agreement, identifying and providing training to PJM facilitators, chairs and secretaries, providing consultative services to PJM facilitation teams to ensure efficient, effective stakeholder meetings, managing the stakeholder process related tools, and providing necessary leadership and support for stakeholder outreach. This includes leading the team in partnering with the Sr. Manager of Stakeholder Affairs and PJM subject matter experts, PJM advocates, PJM chairs, facilitators and secretaries, and responsiveness to stakeholders in the process.

Essential Functions

• Ensuring current and prospective PJM stakeholders understand and are guided through the committee process.


• Coordinating all PJM committee structure management, including Issues Tracking.


• Supporting response to inquiries from PJM participants, regulators, and stakeholders as to the stakeholder process.


• Supporting open lines of communication up through the PJM management team.


• Proactively addressing committee needs with timely, result-oriented, and cost-effective solutions.


• Providing leadership to team members in the completion of activities and assignments that supports PJM and Stakeholder Affairs leadership in present and future needs related to the stakeholder process.


• Capitalizing on strong communication to build and strengthen Member and stakeholder relationships.


• Demonstrating independence, autonomy and a non-biased approach for the completion of stakeholder process work.


• Providing leadership for the operation of and the tools supporting the stakeholder process.


• Supporting the Sr. Manager, Stakeholder Affairs in seeking opportunities to evolve the stakeholder process to support the level and complexity of issues being addressed by stakeholders.


• Demonstrating persuasion and negotiation skills.


• Demonstrating ability to present complex issues to senior management and stakeholders in support of a collaborative decision-making process.

Characteristics & Qualifications

• Required Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent experience.


• At least 5 years of experience, with 2+ years of experience working in the stakeholder process.


• 2+ years of leadership experience in a managerial/supervisory role.


• Understanding of PJM’s core business functions in operations, markets, and planning functions.


• Preferred Masters Business Administration (MBA).


• Preferred 3-7 years of leadership experience in a managerial/supervisory role.


• Ability and desire to build relationships and interact with a wide range of stakeholders and staff in support of the stakeholder process.
