Job summary

The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) is seeking a senior engineering leader to manage a skilled team building foundational components for the Ovation Risk Platform. You will guide design decisions and oversee large-scale architectures, while integrating AI/ML capabilities and advanced PostgreSQL design.

You will also drive performance reviews, compensation decisions, and cross-functional collaboration across multiple systems, with up to 40% telecommuting.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in computer science, IT, business administration, or related field.
• Three (3) years of experience as a senior software engineer, manager, or related role.

Responsibilities

• Lead a diversely skilled team of engineers working on foundational components for the Ovation Risk Platform; conduct structured performance reviews and manage compensation decisions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver complex projects spanning multiple systems.
• Analyze, document, and refine architectures; create transition plans to reach target state architectures.
• Design and operate large-scale, fault-tolerant event streaming with Apache Kafka and Apache Flink for real-time ingestion, transformation, and processing.
• Act as technical product owner to flesh out detailed business, architectural and design requirements.
• Integrate AI/ML capabilities into enterprise systems, with advanced PostgreSQL design, query optimization, and schema management.
• Lead development of solution architecture on the Ovation Risk Platform and review proposals with tech leads and senior business partners.
• Leverage domain knowledge of options exchange operations, trade lifecycle, and clearing workflows.
• Telecommuting up to 40%.

Manage a diversely skilled team of talented engineers working on building foundational components required by the Ovation Risk Platform, all while enriching and advancing the platform providing sound technical decisions around design, architecture and development. Provide senior-level engineering people management, including conducting structured performance reviews, administering compensation decisions such as merit increases and equity adjustments, managing involuntary separations, and leading cross-functional teams at scale. Collaborate with others to deliver complex projects which may involve multiple systems. Analyze, document, refine, and maintain architectures that are developed within the team. Create strategies and transition plans to deliver target state architectures. Design and operate large-scale, fault-tolerant event streaming architectures using Apache Kafka and Apache Flink for real-time data ingestion, transformation, and processing. Act as technical product owner in flushing out detailed business, architectural and design requirements. Integrate artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities into enterprise-grade systems, combined with advanced PostgreSQL database design, query optimization, and schema management. Lead development of solution and solution architecture on Ovation Risk Platform. Review architecture proposals with tech leads in the firm as well as senior business partners. The salary range listed for any given position is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses.
