Job summary

First Tech Federal Credit Union is seeking a senior engineering leader to guide multiple development teams across on- and off-shore operations. You will drive API and microservices initiatives, set coding standards, and collaborate with business units to ensure secure, scalable enterprise systems.

The role emphasizes DevOps discipline, mentoring staff, and leveraging emerging technologies to deliver high-impact financial software solutions. Strong communication and urgency are expected.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years in information systems with CS/IS degree or equivalent.
• 5–7 years applying custom code development in OO languages; Java preferred.
• 3 years designing and building APIs, microservices, and web apps in a DevOps environment.
• 2 years designing front-end SPA (Vue.js, React, Angular).
• 3 years designing table structures and queries in database tech.
• 5–7 years as an individual contributor with coding best practices.
• 3 years managing a team and mentoring professionals.
• Experience with third-party API integrations.
• Experience in financial/regulatory industry with lending domain; LOS like Temenos preferred.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum/DevOps; certification preferred.
• MuleSoft experience and Python scripting is a plus.

Essential Functions:

• Set the development strategy, best practices, technical design, coding, and quality standards, using input from appropriate teams.
• Maintain and improve business partnerships, processes, key performance metrics, policies and procedures to a strong level of business satisfaction and service levels, including adherence.

• Manage some of the largest, complex and most critical system projects for the credit union.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 7-10 years of experience with Information/Business Systems. 4-year degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or similar, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 5-7 years applying custom code development to complex problems in any object-oriented programming language, Java is preferred.
• Minimum 3 years designing and building performance API, Microservices, Console and Web Applications in a DevOps environment.
• Minimum 2 years designing and building front-end UI SPA (vue.js, react, angular)
• Minimum 3 years designing table structures and querying database technology.
• Minimum 5-7 years as an individual contributor with strong understanding of coding best practices.
• Minimum 3 years managing a team and mentoring professionals.
• Experience with custom data integrations using third party APIs.
• Experience in a Financial or Regulated Industry with lending domain knowledge with LOS applications like Temenos is preferred.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum/DevOps environment, with strong preference for certification.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and work with a sense of urgency.
• MuleSoft experience and using script language like python is good to have.

Location: Chelmsford/Marlborough, MA

Target Compensation: Min $131K - Max $157K annually + annual bonus

Schedule: Monday- Friday: 8-5pm
