Job summary

The Manager of Social Video Production at the ASPCA leads technical and creative aspects of social media video content, working closely with the Creative + Multimedia and Social Media teams to develop, shoot, edit and optimize short‑form content across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and LinkedIn. The position is on‑site in ASPCA’s New York City location and requires travel up to 25% annually as needed.

Target hiring range: $75,000 to $80,000.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years producing multimedia content for social platforms.
  • 2+ years in social video optimization.
  • 2+ years in performance tracking (strongly preferred).
  • Experience in nonprofit or mission‑driven organizations (strongly preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with program, marketing, external and creative teams to identify storytelling opportunities for social platforms.
  • Partner with the Social Media team to develop multimedia content aligned with channel priorities.
  • Film video content across ASPCA locations; operate cameras, lighting and audio equipment.
  • Edit videos using Adobe Premiere and produce motion graphics with After Effects and Photoshop.
  • Maintain and organize multimedia assets for use across the organization.
  • Provide expertise on video optimization and platform best practices.
  • Develop thumbnails, titles, captions and supporting content for videos.
  • Monitor and analyze engagement, growth and performance metrics.

Overview

The Manager of Social Video Production at the ASPCA leads technical and creative aspects of social media video content, working closely with the Creative + Multimedia and Social Media teams to develop, shoot, edit and optimize short‑form content across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and LinkedIn.

Location & Travel

The position is on‑site in ASPCA’s New York City location and requires travel up to 25% annually as needed.

Compensation

Target hiring range: $75,000 to $80,000.

  • Report insights and performance metrics to internal stakeholders.
  • Serve as liaison between Multimedia and Social Media teams.
  • Coordinate production workflows, timelines and content goals.
  • Lead content management for ASPCA’s YouTube channel.
  • Participate in cross‑functional meetings and communications initiatives.
  • Provide regular reporting updates and feedback to supervisor.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and share learnings with the team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of visual storytelling techniques across social platforms.
  • Proficient in operating video, lighting and audio equipment.
  • Proficiency in at least two of Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop.
  • Proficient in channel management (e.g., TikTok, YouTube).
  • Familiarity with tools such as CapCut and Canva.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects across teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail‑oriented with commitment to brand consistency.
  • Passion for animal welfare and alignment with ASPCA’s mission.
  • Visible embodiment of ASPCA’s core values and behavioral competencies.
Language

English (required).

Education & Work Experience
  • 4+ years of experience producing multimedia content, focusing on social video production.
  • 2+ years of experience in social video optimization.
  • 2+ years of experience in performance tracking (strongly preferred).
  • Experience working with animals in a professional or volunteer setting (strongly preferred).
  • Experience in nonprofit or mission‑driven organizations (strongly preferred).
Additional Information

Flexibility to support field productions and evolving social media priorities is required.
