Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Manager, Security to lead contracted guard forces, physical security, automated access control, and CCTV systems across SpaceX sites. The role will develop the site security strategy, align with SpaceX objectives, and advise senior management through clear briefings.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop and communicate the overall strategy for site security, aligning it with SpaceX’s business objectives.
• Become the trusted security advisor to senior management and leaders across the organization through high-level communication and excellent briefing skills.
• Establish procedures and protocols to assess, identify, and mitigate security vulnerabilities or gaps.
• Maintain a positive, professional environment in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures; ensure all team members understand and comply with those laws.
• Identify, prioritize, develop, and implement security measures, emergency plans, and security protocols and strategies.
• Coordinate with local, state, and federal groups to stay updated on security information.
• Maintain security equipment such as cameras, alarms, and access control systems.
• Assess systems, alarms, and other security measures for effectiveness.
• Make effective decisions in routine and crisis situations.
• Take personal initiative in developing efficient work processes.
• Address and resolve security issues promptly, effectively, and independently.

MANAGER, SECURITY

Help SpaceX protect life and property anywhere company assets are deployed. The Manager, Security is a highly trained professional who will provide coordination for Contracted Guard Force, Physical Security, Automated Access Control System, Intrusion Detection System, and CCTV Systems. This individual will have access to cutting‑edge technology in order to provide the best possible protection for the employees and assets of SpaceX.

Responsibilities

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate
• 10+ years of experience in the field of security
• 5+ years of security management experience supervising and directing staff across a wide range of operating functions
• Experience with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)

Preferred Skills And Experience

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Exceptional track record in managing security operations, special events, and risk mitigation to critical infrastructure
• Prior experience directing large teams in all areas of security management
• Established skills in strategic and critical thinking, decision‑making, communications, and relationship‑building
• Highly organized, detail oriented, and possess a proven ability to thrive under pressure and to execute on a number of projects simultaneously
• Successful experience working in a fast‑paced, dynamic, results‑oriented team environment

Additional Requirements

• Must be willing to work all shifts, extended hours, and/or weekends as needed
• Must be willing to travel up to 15%
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an FAA Part 107 Drone license
• Ability to pass Air Force and NASA background checks for installation access as directed
• Must be able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
• An active clearance may provide the opportunity for you to work on sensitive SpaceX missions; if so, you will be subject to pre‑employment drug and random drug and alcohol testing
• Position is subject to pre‑employment enhanced screening, including a background check, psychological test, bi‑annual physical fitness test, and a drug and alcohol test
• Position is subject to random drug and alcohol testing
