Job summary

Dal-Tile, a subsidiary of Mohawk Industries, seeks a Manager Safety to lead and execute safety programs across our facilities, ensuring compliance with OSHA and sustaining a culture of safety.

The role requires 6–8 years of relevant experience, strong leadership, and the ability to train and coach site leaders on SMS, plus travel to production floors and offices as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education/experience.
  • 6-8 years’ relevant experience (or equivalent education/experience).
  • 1-3 years of management experience.
  • Safety training and certificates preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety disciplines, other regulatory guidelines, and common industrial safety practices.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and classify risks and losses and measure financial impact upon the company.
  • Design and direct programs to reduce accidents, occupational illness, and exposure to long term health hazards.
  • Train employees and management in safety practices.
  • Investigate accidents, injuries, or occupational illnesses to determine causes and preventive measures.
  • Review plans and specifications for construction or purchase of new machinery or equipment to determine whether all safety requirements have been met.
  • Conduct safety audits, record, and rate severity level, and assign responsibility for corrective actions.
  • Coach site-specific leadership team on the expectations, tools, and implementation of the Safety Management System.
  • Tracks and monitors SMS level specific KPI’s.
  • Create and continually improve SMS specific training such as Supervisor Hazard identification/Mitigation and Supervisor Safety Communication Skills, Roles, and Responsibilities.
  • Ensure the integrity of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
  • Performs other duties as needed.

Job Objective

The Manager Safety is a first-level manager that will manage and execute on organizational safety programs to prevent injuries and work-related health conditions and comply with applicable regulatory requirements. This role will promote and work to maintain a safe and healthy work environment by collaborating with various departments to minimize workplace hazards and foster a culture of safety.

Required Experience And Education
