Manager - RN Clinical Documentation
To develop, coordinate, implement and provide ongoing management of work flows and business operations in the area of Clinical Documentation and manage support staff. To collaborate with senior management in the planning, design, and documentation of the assigned workflows such that plans may be executed in an efficient and effective manner. Ensures financial success for University of Mississippi Medical Center and University Physicians through exercising independent managerial judgment and skills applied to leading staff, monitoring applicable metrics, staying current in all regulatory matters related to HIM, and maintaining productive throughput. Must maintain a working knowledge of all employment policies, procedures and systems to maintain accurate and complete records for all personnel under his/her management. Must be highly effective in developing, documenting, and delivering crucial conversations and applicable corrective actions as needed among personnel under his/her management.
Bachelor’s degree preferred in one of the following areas: Finance, Business, Health Care Administration, Health Information, Nursing or other related field and a minimum of three (3) years of Clinical Documentation Improvement experience, and Two (2) years supervisory experience in Nursing.
Valid RN license and Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS)
In depth knowledge of large group physician and hospital billing and government and other payor billing rules and regulations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational and analytical skills. Ability to design and implement measures to increase productivity, maximize collections, attain or exceed accounts receivable goals and industry benchmarks, and improve customer service. The ability to train, inspire and oversee staff. Advanced knowledge of medical terminology. Advanced knowledge of revenue cycle functions. Ability to pay attention to detail. Ability to maintain a professional appearance and attitude. Ability to read, write, type, and follow oral and written directions. Ability to work independently to effectively and efficiently perform assigned duties. Good interpersonal communication and organizational skills, and proven ability to work effectively with others sections.
