Job summary

Texas Health Resources in Dallas is seeking a Manager of Risk Management to lead hospital-wide risk activities and patient safety initiatives. The role emphasizes collaboration with medical staff, quality, and administrative teams to reduce risk and improve outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have healthcare leadership experience, knowledge of risk management, and strong communication skills, with a focus on education, policy development, and incident analysis in a high-volume hospital setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing or other health related field required.
  • 5 Years Healthcare Experience Required.
  • 2 Years risk management, patient safety and/or quality Required.
  • Progressive Management Experience Preferred.
  • CPHRM - Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management with in 2 Years of hire Required or
  • CPHQ - Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality with in 2 Years of hire Required.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the day to day operations of hospital risk management and patient advocacy.
  • Effectively manages the reporting system with risk staff.
  • Provides consultation services to medical staff, department managers, and organization personnel through individual meetings and committee participation with respect to patient safety and risk management.
  • Manages and mentors subordinate personnel in support of the hospital and department goals to foster their growth and development.
  • Oversees the processes for analysis, investigation, representation and negotiation of complaints and events.
  • Coordinates and collaborates with the Quality manager to facilitates the patient safety activities throughout the organization and in key hospital committees such as the Quality Improvement Patient Safety Council.
  • Directs the preparation of reports and case summaries.
  • Communicate and collaborate with the Manager of Quality in the areas of data and information management, performance improvement, patient safety, and risk management.
  • Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to know the latest trends and issues pertaining to patient safety and risk management.

Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas is one of North Texas's most established hospitals. The Risk Management Manager has the following duties and responsibilities:
