Job Description

  • Maintains accountability for coordinating the care of trauma patients in order to ensure an organized, multidisciplinary approach for management of quality patient care both internally and externally in a trauma care system consistent with the criteria outlined in the most current edition of the American College Surgeons (ACS) "Resources for Optimal Care of the Injured Patient".


Qualifications

  • BSN Nursing.
  • Current MI License required.
  • Master's degree in nursing or business or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience in the care of trauma patients.
  • Advanced skills in critical care nursing required.
  • Pertinent certifications related to the care of trauma patients (TNCC, ENPC, ATCN, TCRN)
  • Management experience with background in budget oversight strongly recommended.
  • A high level of interpersonal skills required to coordinate the multiple services.
  • Analytical abilities required in order to evaluate the quality of care provided to trauma patients.
  • Ability to maintain flexible working hours required.


Physical Requirements

  • Visual, hearing, and verbal abilities required in order to provide patient care, instruct personnel, and maintain records.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently under deadlines, high volumes, and multiple interruptions.
  • Prolonged periods of mental concentration.
  • Analytical ability required in order to evaluate the quality of care provided to trauma patients.
  • Ability to maintain flexible working hours required.
