Job summary

Watlow, a global technology and manufacturing leader, seeks an Engineering Manager – Quality to lead the enterprise Quality Management System across Saint Louis and sites. You will guide New Product Development Quality, implement advanced quality tools, and champion Industry 4.0 initiatives.

You will mentor teams, ensure compliance with APQP, PPAP, Copy Exact, POR, and drive data-driven improvements using Excel, SharePoint, and SQL Server.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a related engineering field or equivalent experience.
• Expertise with APQP, PPAP, PQP, CRAMs, POR and Copy Exact methodologies.
• Proven data-management skills using Excel, SharePoint, and SQL Server.

Responsibilities

• Leadership and coaching of team members, including New Product Development Quality Engineers.
• Subject‑matter expert for quality skills such as APQP, PPAP, Copy Exact, POR and complex quality tools.
• Formulate or assist in formulating and implementing quality control policies and procedures.
• Improve products or processes impacting one or more technical areas or multiple manufacturing locations by researching new and existing business and quality systems.
• Implement and train on the best solution for business and/or quality systems to meet business and customer needs.
• Coach teams on application of cause chains, 5‑Why, Ishikawa diagrams, 8‑D, RCCA, A3 systems thinking, creative problem solving, and development of trade‑off curves.
• Member of the Quality Leadership Team, leading and supporting action projects in support of enterprise needs.

ENGINEERING MANAGER – QUALITY

Location: Saint Louis, Mo.

About the Role

The Quality Manager–Systems will be an enterprise role engaging with all functions and sites to add and improve Watlow’s Business System. The ideal candidate will work both independently and in teams, provide leadership in the implementation of quality business systems, training systems, and manufacturing processes, and support the semiconductor, energy, environmental technology, and thermal systems business units.

This role requires strong knowledge of Industry 4.0 and Smart Factory initiatives within Watlow, the design and implementation of new business systems that support a common standard across all sites, and leadership of root‑cause analysis and improvement efforts to meet customer and company quality standards.

Your Key Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

• Advanced degree in field of specialization or bachelor’s degree and related experience.
• Expertise in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), PPAP, PQP, CRAMs, POR, and Copy Exact methodologies.
• Strong data‑management skills—Excel, SharePoint, and SQL Server databases.

• Experience in semiconductor, medical, nuclear, or automotive sectors.
• Six Sigma Black Belt certification highly desired.
