Job summary

Safran is seeking a Manager of Quality to lead all site quality functions, ensuring safe, compliant, and high-quality aerospace products. You will drive continuous improvement, oversee inspections, MRB, and audits, and partner with manufacturing teams to maintain product conformity at all stages.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering/Quality, 8–10 years in quality roles, and 3–5 years in leadership within aerospace or regulated industries.

Qualifications

  • 8–10 years of experience in Quality Control, Manufacturing Quality, or Inspection roles.
  • 3–5 years of leadership experience in a production or quality environment.
  • Aerospace or regulated industry experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all Quality functions including Production Quality Engineering, Incoming/ In-Process/ Final Inspection, and Shipping Release.
  • Ensure conformity of products to engineering, regulatory, and customer requirements prior to shipment.
  • Oversee inspection methods, control plans, FAI, and verification processes.
  • Drive rapid response to production quality issues with root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • Monitor and improve Quality Control KPIs.
  • Interface with customers and regulatory authorities on product quality and acceptance matters.
  • Develop and execute continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead root cause analyses for nonconformances, audits, and customer returns.

Job description

The Manager, Quality plays a critical leadership role in ensuring the delivery of safe, compliant, and high-quality aerospace products. This position is responsible for leading all site quality functions, ensuring full compliance with customer, regulatory, and Safran standards, and driving continuous improvement across the organization.

This role ensures that products meet all technical specifications, airworthiness requirements, and customer expectations, while strengthening quality culture and operational performance throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Lead all Quality functions including Production Quality Engineering, Incoming Inspection, In-Process Inspection, Final Inspection, and Shipping Release
  • Ensure conformity of products to engineering, regulatory, and customer requirements prior to shipment
  • Ensure product safety, airworthiness, and compliance with aerospace standards (e.g., AS9100)
  • Oversee inspection methods, control plans, First Article Inspection (FAI), and verification processes
  • Ensure effective containment and segregation of nonconforming material and oversee MRB (Material Review Board) activities
  • Drive rapid response to production quality issues, including root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
  • Monitor and improve key Quality Control KPIs
  • Ensure calibration and control of inspection, measuring, and test equipment
  • Partner with manufacturing teams to ensure process adherence and product conformity at all production stages
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action processes for nonconformances, audits, and customer returns
  • Develop and execute continuous improvement initiatives
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support product development, industrialization, and production
  • Supervise and standardize inspection practices, procedures, and documentation
  • Support internal and external audits related to product conformity and inspection processes
  • Interface with customers and regulatory authorities on product quality and acceptance matters
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on defect reduction and process capability
  • Develop and train inspection teams to ensure capability and consistency
  • Drive deployment of Safran standards and operational excellence practices across site processes
  • Prepare and present monthly and quarterly quality performance reports
  • Provide input to budgeting, resource planning, and strategic initiatives
  • Adheres to safe work practices and contributes to the evolution of the health, safety, and environmental program and culture
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required

Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field required
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in Quality Control, Manufacturing Quality, or Inspection roles
  • Minimum 3-5 years of leadership experience in a production or quality environment
  • Aerospace or regulated industry experience required
Knowledge/Skills
  • Strong expertise in inspection techniques, product verification, and acceptance criteria - Expert
  • Knowledge of aerospace standards (AS9100), drawings, and technical specifications - Expert
  • Experience with MRB, nonconformance management, and disposition processes - Expert
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies - Advanced
  • Strong understanding of measurement systems, calibration, and metrology - Advanced
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T - Expert
  • Leadership and team management skills in a shop floor environment - Expert
  • Data analysis and reporting (Excel, SPC, etc.) - Advanced
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills - Advanced
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or equivalent preferred
  • AS9100 internal or lead auditor certification is a plus
