What You’ll Do
  • Develop, implement, and monitor business unit quality policies and procedures consistent with company and strategic business unit objectives. Manage strategic business unit quality activities and resources.
  • Continuously monitor quality data (warranty, product rectification, customer satisfaction, etc.) for improvement opportunities across the business unit. Work with the business unit strategic group to select, manage, and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage the development and maintenance of methods and systems for measuring the degree by which the business unit’s quality goals, objectives and standards are being met.
  • Lead and participate in the business unit quality audit and corrective action process by providing training, facilitation, recommendations and leadership, as required, to achieve optimal results. Assist external auditors from various quality associations. Monitor, review and conduct sub‑contractor audits in liaison with supplier development.
  • Interface with marketing, operations and engineering to establish quality requirements on individual products and services on the basis of customer needs, the fit, form and function of the product, and to ensure that quality considerations are properly addressed as early as possible in the product or process design stage.
  • Monitor warranty procedures including investigation, root‑cause, corrective action and follow‑up to ensure that continuous improvement is occurring.
  • Collect and analyze quality data for the purpose of identifying trends with respect to non‑conformance documents.
  • Analyze, evaluate, and present information concerning factors such as business situations, production capabilities, remanufacturing problems, statistical trends, and proposed process changes. Review factors in light of quality of product and reliability of quality during production.
  • Research, compile, and review company procedures.
  • Maintain currency on regulatory requirements and quality standards.
  • Seek new quality methodologies for implementation in support of business unit strategic initiatives.
  • Exercise authority in hiring, training, career development, performance appraisal, salary adjustments, promotion, discipline, health, safety and the general employee relations of direct reports.
  • Actively participate in the appropriate management team(s), assisting with the development and realization of strategic plans, budgets, goals and outcomes.
  • Carry out special projects as assigned.
Position Requirements
  • 3‑5 years of strong planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills.
  • 1‑3 years of experience with airworthiness certification requirements and regulatory bodies (TC, CAAC, FAA, etc.) applicable to business unit needs.
  • 1‑3 years of prior Quality experience as it relates to FAA Part 145 Repair Station and prior FAA exposure with FSDO office.
  • 2‑4 years of thorough knowledge of ISO 9000 quality system requirements.
  • 2‑4 years of thorough knowledge of internal audit policies and procedures.
  • 2‑4 years of working knowledge of production management computer systems.
  • 1‑3 years of prior or current supervisory experience in a manufacturing or aerospace environment, or airline maintenance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, or aerospace engineering; or equivalent / A&P certificate.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
