Job summary

goTenna is seeking a QA SDET Manager to lead and grow the QA team across firmware and software portfolios. You will actively contribute to test automation, troubleshooting, and SDET activities while partnering with Hardware, Firmware, Software, Product, and Customer Experience leadership to deliver high-quality products on schedule.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in QA, hands-on automation across Android/iOS/web, and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in quality assurance, software test automation, software development, and/or firmware engineering.
• Hands-on automation testing with Android, iOS, and web-based applications.
• Experience with Selenium, Appium, or similar in Java, C/C++, or Python; hardware integration.
• Experience with CI/CD practices and debugging/API tools like ADB, Xcode, and Postman.
• Experience with AWS and/or virtualized environments; strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.

About the role:

goTenna is seeking an experienced QA SDET Manager to lead, mentor, and develop a growing team of SDET engineers while overseeing a rigorous QA process across our firmware and software product portfolio. This is a hands‑on leadership role, with the manager actively contributing to test automation, troubleshooting, and other SDET activities. The position will collaborate closely with Hardware, Firmware, Software, Product, and Customer Experience leadership to deliver high‑quality products to customers on schedule. The QA SDET Manager will also help optimize goTenna’s testing methodologies, drive product improvements informed by customer feedback and technical expertise and support an Agile development environment that includes regular field testing.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead, coach, mentor, and develop QA team members while ensuring the team consistently delivers high-quality results
• Collaborate with and support the QA Lead Architect in defining and executing the software test automation strategy, technical roadmap, coding standards, and framework architecture
• Partner with the Director of QA Engineering and cross-functional leaders to establish and maintain product quality standards
• Define, implement, and continuously improve QA standards, testing methodologies, and evaluation processes
• Establish and enforce quality policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements across the product lifecycle
• Ensure product quality through effective planning, continuous monitoring, risk assessment, and evaluation of testing outcomes
• Maintain current technical and professional knowledge through training, industry publications, professional networks, and relevant organizations
• Contribute to team objectives by performing senior-level QA and SDET responsibilities as needed

Required Experience:

• 7+ years of experience in quality assurance, software test automation, software development, and/or firmware engineering
• Demonstrated hands‑on automation testing experience with Android, iOS, and web-based applications
• Experience with tools such as Selenium, Appium, or similar using Java, C/C++, or Python, including hardware integration
• Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) practices. Proficiency with debugging and API tools such as ADB, Xcode, and Postman
• Experience working with AWS and/or virtualized environments. Strong leadership, communication, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills

Preferred Experience:

• Familiarity with XCodeUI and/or Espresso
• Experience with virtualization and emulation for mobile devices
• Experience with Linux and networking
• Preferred experience with AI tools, technologies, and their practical application in software testing and automation
• Experience using RF test/lab equipment such as network analyzers, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers
• RF or Telecommunications experience
• Experience working in a technology startup environment
