Job summary

Zachry Group is seeking a Field QC Manager to supervise daily inspection activities, coordinate with the owner's team, and oversee subcontractor inspections for direct hire construction projects. You will implement the quality manual and inspection test plan, review test plans, and generate quality reports to ensure a quality product that meets customer expectations.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of relevant construction experience.
• Required: Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Understand the prime contract requirements related to the role.
• Understand subcontractor contract requirements.
• Implement the project quality management plan for the craft discipline.
• Implement project specific quality procedures.
• Develop and implement project specific inspection & test plans.
• Supervise QC inspectors, including third-party inspectors, and provide daily assignments.
• Ensure QC inspectors follow the HSE requirements applicable for their work scope.
• Ensure compliance with project codes, specifications, and drawings.
• Implement and maintain weld rod/filler material controls.
• Maintain welder/welding operator performance qualifications (WPQs).
• Ensure welding is performed to approved WPSs and welders are qualified.
• Assist with development of preventive maintenance schedule and provide inspection support as required.
• Develop and maintain required project quality records and documentation.
• Maintain inspection and CAR/NCR logs in conjunction with the project quality manager.
• Review quality records/documents for correctness and completeness.

Field QC Manager will supervise/coordinate daily inspection activities of inspection personnel, interface with the owners team for notification of inspections and technical issues, supervise oversight of sub-contractor activities. Implement the quality manual and inspection test plan for direct hire construction activities, and perform review of sub-contractor inspection test plan. Manage quality activities for the quality control team, ensuring the team works accurately and effectively to produce a quality product that meets the customer’s expectations. Manage quality records, review daily QC inspection reports and RFIs, and generate quality reports and NCRs.

Reporting

This position provides direct supervision through work leaders or assistants, typically with a subordinate group of up to ten employees. The position requires estimating personnel needs and assigning work to meet completion dates in accordance with established schedules, supervising, coordinating, and reviewing the work of assigned staff, recommending candidates for employment, conducting performance evaluations and salary reviews for assigned staff, and administering company policies.

Work Environment

Employee will work in multiple on-site environments. Work site noise levels will be moderate to high. Job site will contain light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment and tools, people standing, walking, sitting, signaling, and talking, bells, whistles, and alarms.
