Job summary

InterContinental Hotels Group is seeking an Agile Project Manager to drive successful implementation of new processes, programs, and systems across large, complex projects. You will lead project teams, balance scope, time, cost, and quality, and navigate a large organization to influence priorities.

The role requires 6–8 years of IT/PM experience, strong communication, and coordination with multiple departments, with travel about 10% and a hybrid work arrangement in the ATLANTA office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• 6-8 years progressive IT/PM experience with 2+ years coordinating IT projects and/or team lead experience.
• Experience in organizing, planning and executing small to mid-scale projects through the lifecycle.
• Strong verbal and written communication for status updates to clients, vendors, and management.
• Experience across multiple areas: mainframe, client-server, hardware/software deployment, application development, change management, disaster recovery, production support.
• Knowledge of lifecycle management, process creation, and quality management.

Job description

Role Purpose

The Agile Project Manager ensures the successful implementation of new processes, programs, and/or systems for the large complex projects. This individual is responsible for leading various project teams and utilizing Agile project management discipline to implement major initiatives, which involves balancing competing demands among scope, time, cost, and quality, stakeholders with differing needs and expectations, identifying requirements (needs) and unidentified requirements (expectations) and working concurrently with multiple departments as project plans are developed and executed. Must be able to navigate large organizations to identify key stakeholders and influence and prioritize work effectively.

Your Day to Day

• Manage and monitor enterprise systems and business applications projects. Prepare internal management reports recapping the utilization of resources, prepare project plans and review performance against committed schedules and budgets.
• Interface with application development, global networks, telecommunications, account management, other IT organizations, and external vendors to prepare project requirements, planning and provisioning activities, implementation and closure of project initiatives.
• Ensure the system development activities are consistent with established standards, follow departmental development processes and meet user and business objectives. Define and refine departmental standards, methodologies, and processes to ensure the efficient development and implementation of quality systems.
• Project manage the design, enhancement and maintenance of corporate systems; and ensure the continuous availability and recoverability (ongoing lifecycle) of critical business systems for all supported clients.

What We Need From You

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a relevant field of work or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience.
• 6-8 years progressive work related experience with demonstrated proficiency in multiple disciplines/processes related to the position including 2+ years coordinating and managing IT projects and/or team lead experience w/ a technical staff.
• Demonstrated project management experience in organizing, planning and executing small to mid-scale projects through the project life cycle
• Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills for the purpose of providing and explaining project information and status to clients, vendors, management and staff.
• Experience should include as many of the following areas as possible:, Mainframe hardware / software, Client server hardware / software, Hardware / Software deployment, , Application Development, Change Management, Disaster Recovery, Production Support
• Demonstrated knowledge of life cycle management, process creation and implementation, and quality management.

Travel - 10%

Location - Our hybrid work structure is an exception of three (3) days in the ATLANTA office. This expectation may be adjusted to evolve with the changing needs of the business.
