Responsibilities

  • Liaise among planning, project management, construction and engineering groups, external stakeholders, and leadership to align project scopes and lead early-stage development activities.
  • Lead teams in developing cost estimates and managing Stage Gate approvals for early-stage project funding decisions.
  • Lead the team to produce and deliver project execution plan documents needed to support Stage 3 funding.
  • Guide a system-wide team in defining project scope across reliability, planning, and resiliency efforts, including field visits for scoping.
  • Maintain and improve cost-estimating tools for Distribution by integrating Maximo data, coordinating tool updates with input from design, engineering, PM and construction teams.
  • Lead a team that identifies, tracks, and communicates project risks to leadership and cross-functional teams.

**This position is onsite and may sit within Entergy’s service territory across Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, or Texas.**


Job Summary/Purpose

This position leads early‑stage project development across Distribution while coordinating cross‑functional teams to define scope, develop cost estimates and execution plans, optimize capital investments, and identify and communicate project risks throughout Entergy’s Stage Gate process.


Job Duties / Responsibilities


  • Serves as liaison among planning, project management, construction and engineering groups, external stakeholders, and company leadership to align project scopes and lead early‑stage development activities.

  • Leads teams in developing cost estimates and managing Stage Gate approvals for early‑stage project funding decisions.

  • Leads team to produce and deliver project execution plan documents needed to support Stage 3 funding.

  • Guides a system‑wide team in defining project scope across reliability, planning, and resiliency efforts, including conducting field visits with the team for scoping projects.

  • Maintains and improves cost‑estimating tools for Distribution by integrating Maximo data , coordinating potential tool updates with input from design basis, engineering, project management and construction teams.

  • Leads a team that identifies, tracks, and communicates project risks to leadership and cross‑functional teams.

  • Leads team that identifies opportunities to streamline capital investment between transmission and distribution projects.


Minimum education required of the position


  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Construction-related field or equivalent work experience.

  • Advanced degree preferred.


Minimum experience required of the position


  • 7 years utility experience.


Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position


  • High degree of analytical skill and ability to quickly understand the impacts of business decisions.

  • Understanding of cost recovery and financial differences between categories of capital investment.

  • Strong communication and conflict management skills.

  • Extensive experience with Distribution operations including the construction and reliable operation of Distribution facilities.

  • Leading a team that is not centrally located.
