Position Overview
As the Manager, Project Controls Cost & Schedule, you will be responsible for leading cost control and scheduling staff, actively managing the cost and schedule for key & complex projects, supporting financial reporting, and supporting Project Management during project development and construction phases. The role will be heavily focused on managing cost control models, analyzing these models, running critical path analysis, evaluating schedule performance, developing integrated cost and schedule models, and creating detailed reports to improve the execution of construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Control and monitor project total expenditure, verifying invoices and claims from suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure all project expenditures are captured and properly recorded.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, identifying relationships, logic, milestones, durations, and constraints for the portfolio of projects.
- Review contractor schedule submissions and updates for completeness and identify schedule risks to the Project Management team.
- Own the baseline schedule and proactively work with internal and external stakeholders on updates, including coordination with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to analyze updates to overall project schedule.
- Provide planning, cost, and scheduling support for all projects, including variation reporting and monitoring of milestone tracking.
- Lead cost controllers and schedulers in supporting cost and scheduling activities across the Invenergy project portfolio.
- Perform and manage project financial activity monitoring and purchase request creation and follow up.
- Perform commercial reviews of subcontractor quotations for the preparation of service agreements.
- Ensure effective project implementation and utilize productive reports to monitor the status of all activities, purchases, invoicing, and delivery up to project closure.
- Identify cost and schedule risks and assist in planned mitigation efforts.
- Prepare monthly movement reports to monitor project activities daily, promptly reporting to the project manager and management.
- Review project cost and schedule reports to ensure project requirements are met.
- Monitor and proactively provide input on project issues impacting the project.
- Prepare ad-hoc reports as directed by management.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field; engineering, finance, or construction preferred.
- 8+ years of total work experience, with 6+ years of construction experience in cost and scheduling.
- Team lead or people management experience.
- P6/OPC experience.
- Cost Control system experience.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills, teamwork, collaboration, and communication abilities.
- Experience with project coordination and management involving multiple interfaces between vendors, internal staff, and other stakeholders.
- Experience identifying project risks that may impact cost and schedule.
- Willingness to spend time on active construction sites.
- Ability to travel up to 5% of the time.
- Eligible to work in the United States without employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of managing direct reports.
- Project Management Institute (PMI) or relevant certifications.
- Certification CCP or CCC.
- Project Management experience.
- Renewable energy experience.
- Process improvement and implementation experience.
Base Pay
$118,000.00 - $165,000.00 USD Annual. Bonus: 25% - 40%.
