Our Energy operations consist of natural gas gathering systems, distribution services maintenance, facilities construction and water distribution. Gas distribution is the largest segment in the pipeline distribution portfolio, offering network design and construction or rehabilitation services for gas networks across Canada and the United States.

Reporting directly into the General Manager, the Project Manager will oversee and manage the entire scope of our projects and will ultimately have a significant impact on the overall project performance.

What You'll Do Here:
  • Be accountable for ensuring all project management activities are successfully executed, including:
  • Support the proposal/estimating team to provide a quality submission that is both competitive and achievable.
  • Lead transition from estimating to project execution.
  • Attract, build and mentor project teams.
  • Promote a work environment that employees want to be a part of.
  • Develop project goals to meet or exceed the owner’s deliverables and align with Aecon’s corporate initiatives.
  • Actively promote and prioritize safety above all else.
  • Adhere to the critical path (i.e., ensure effective project controls to track, monitor, and adjust the schedule to meet all critical milestones).
  • Demonstrate commercial acumen to control costs and improve margins.
  • Enforce timely change management practices.
  • Oversee quality, testing, start-up and commissioning.
  • Accurately forecast and report performance (e.g., safety, schedule, cost, and quality).
  • Identify, mitigate, and manage project risks.
  • Oversee procurement of subcontractors, major equipment, and line materials.
  • Effectively negotiate and execute contracts in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Manage and foster all stakeholder relations (e.g., Owner, Regulators, Subcontractors, Suppliers, etc.).
  • Chair project management meetings with a focus on the best outcomes for Aecon, our client, and our partners.
What You Bring to the Team:
  • At least 7 years of construction experience.
  • Post-secondary education in engineering, construction management, or an equivalent discipline.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships and work within a team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Background in general contracting.

The expected salary for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 USD per annum.

Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience and unique skills.
