Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Mapleton, IL, is seeking a production supervisor to oversee a complex production line, prepare schedules, resolve issues, and ensure safety and quality standards. The role includes reporting on production processes, guiding improvements, and coordinating between teams.

Ideal candidates have experience in manufacturing operations, safety compliance, and training. The 2nd shift runs Monday–Friday 3–11 PM with potential overtime; on-site work is required at Mapleton, IL.

  • Ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.
  • Ability to maintain focus on the continuous improvement of processes, products and services.
  • Extensive experience performing day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant or facility for products.
  • Extensive experience identifying work-related hazards and perform necessary activities to meet regulatory requirements for the safety and protection of workers, environment and site.
  • Ability to conduct effective formal and situation-specific training.

Responsibilities

  • Creating reports and records of production processes, tools issues performance, and inventory; sharing them with managers and providing suggestions to improve safety, productivity and quality.
  • Preparing, maintaining, and updating documentation related to operating procedures and safety and quality standards; ensuring all processes and products meet desired safety and quality standards.
  • Supervising and directing the daily activities of production lines workers, assigning tasks, ensuring coordination between different teams, ensuring their safety and monitoring their performance.
  • Training new hires, managing scheduling and work conflicts, monitoring safety, and promoting internal communication to create a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Role:

  • Degree: Business or Engineering program preferred

  • Previous foundry experience preferred

  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred

Additional Information:

  • 2nd shift is Monday-Friday 3-11PM.

  • Overtime may be required depending on business needs.

  • This is an on-site position in Mapleton, IL.

Summary Pay Range:

$89,210.00 - $133,810.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
