Job description

Manager - Product Management - Travel Communication Platform

Manager, Product Management (PXDP50)

Do you want to build and scale the communication platforms that reach every Capital One Travel customer at every stage of their journey? Are you ready to evolve a foundational communications architecture into an intelligent, multi-channel engine that powers both critical servicing and dynamic marketing? Do you thrive in a highly innovative environment where your vision shapes the future of customer engagement? If so, this product management role at Capital One may be the perfect fit for you.

Join the fast-growing Capital One Travel team as we transform the way customers book and experience travel. As a digital-first business, we are building an industry-leading travel booking platform that customers love - delivering unique, differentiated benefits to our millions of customers while powering the headline marketable benefits of our credit card products.

In this Manager-level role, you will own our overarching communications platform strategy. You will take the reins of our newly developed Email Templating Engine, charting its strategic expansion beyond servicing to encompass marketing capabilities and deep data personalization. Furthermore, you will define the greenfield strategy for SMS engagement and explore how artificial intelligence can intelligently layer into our critical communications.

In this role, you will:

  • Chart the Strategic Vision: Own the end-to-end strategy and product roadmap for Capital One Travel's multi-channel communications platform, defining the future state of servicing emails, marketing emails, and SMS.
  • Scale the Email Templating Engine: Take ownership of the newly built Email Templating Engine, driving its expansion from servicing communications into dynamic, personalized marketing use cases.
  • Define the SMS Strategy: Transform our nascent SMS capabilities by developing a comprehensive, forward-looking strategy for how we leverage text messaging to drive customer engagement and value.
  • Pioneer AI Integration: Explore and define how we can responsibly and effectively layer Artificial Intelligence into our critical servicing and marketing messaging to enhance relevance and operational efficiency.
  • Unlock Personalization at Scale: Strategize and execute the integration of rich personalization data into our communications engine, ensuring messages highly relevant and well-managed.
  • Empower Partner Teams: Unify fragmented, channel-specific tooling into a scalable, self-serve system. Enable partner teams to independently launch routine updates and campaigns, significantly reducing engineering overhead for BAU changes.
  • Drive Complex Migrations: Lead multi-phase platform migrations with clear scope boundaries, rigorous go/no-go gates, and credible fallback plans to ensure seamless transitions.
  • Define Success Metrics: Establish and own key performance indicators that demonstrate platform value, such as time-to-launch, delivery/engagement guardrails, and partner enablement velocity.
  • Champion "Well-Managed" Design: Partner closely with Legal, Risk, and Compliance teams to seamlessly embed regulatory requirements and governance into the platform by design.
