Job description

We are seeking a high-impact product leader to join us as Manager of Product and lead Frameworks within MongoDB’s AI Builder Experience organization. In this role, you will champion bold execution, drive impactful growth outcomes, and prioritize our product strategy across MongoDB’s AI framework integrations, developer SDKs, and cutting-edge application libraries.

As a first-line manager, you’ll operate as a hands‑on player‑coach—leading a team of talented IC Product Managers while frequently diving into IC or staff-level work yourself to shape how MongoDB shows up in the frameworks builders use every day. You’ll decide where to place the next bets, build partnerships across the AI ecosystem, and work closely with engineering, marketing, developer relations, and partners to make MongoDB the natural foundation agents run on.

Your leadership in this role will be instrumental not just in maintaining, but in increasing and intensifying builders’ love of MongoDB.

We are looking to speak to candidates who are based in Dublin for our hybrid working model.

What You’ll Do
  • Grow PMs into the best versions of themselves. Lead a high-performing team of IC Product Managers, coaching them on product craft, strategy execution, and career growth. Meet every PM where they are and build a culture of creativity and ownership in line with MongoDB’s Core Values
  • Act as a player‑coach: guide day‑to‑day product judgment, while stepping in directly on the highest‑priority product questions, toughest trade‑offs, and sensitive stakeholder situations without taking ownership away from your team
  • Build the operating engine that makes the team great. Set the product standards the team runs on with clear decision‑making mechanisms, building a culture of rapid hypothesis testing and iterative experimentation so the team moves quickly, and everyone knows what matters most and why
  • Set goals, track the right metrics, and drive outcomes. Builder tooling has a profound impact on activation, retention, and churn. Optimize the developer journey and reduce time‑to‑value for integrations. You’ll build a strong partnership with product analytics to identify the right signals, formulate meaningful metrics, and use data to drive decisions
  • Champion agentic development. Builders are using AI to write their code and build agent‑native applications, and MongoDB is the data platform at the center of that shift. Make sure our framework integrations are purpose‑built for the way agents actually work, with memory, state, and context as core capabilities. Bring real enthusiasm and a clear point of view on where agentic development is going, and set ambitious goals for the builder impact that follows
  • Place smart, ambitious bets on where MongoDB shows up next. Shape a portfolio investment strategy that looks beyond adoption numbers to where the ecosystem is heading, balancing the integrations builders rely on today with rising frameworks and early bets that could define what comes next. Recommend where to build, where to partner, and where to step back and work with leadership and partner teams to land those calls
  • Be a credible technical voice. You’ll engage deeply with engineering on decisions involving client libraries, agentic workflows, and developer tooling. You won’t write the code, but you’ll need to understand it well enough to help the team make the right tradeoffs, communicate confidently with technical customers, and be a strong advocate for the builders out there who are creating with MongoDB
  • Win the trust of the ecosystem, inside and outside MongoDB. Frameworks is partnership work at its core. Build relationships with framework maintainers and AI platforms that trust MongoDB to ship quality and stay committed after launch. Align with the Partnerships team, product marketing, developer relations, and solutions architects so everyone backing a framework moves together
What We’re Looking For
  • 7+ years of product management experience, including managing and developing IC Product Managers in a technical product organization
  • A track record of growing PMs with different strengths and working styles, and adapting your coaching, performance conversations, and development plans for each of them
  • Proven track record as a player‑coach: managing direct reports while maintaining deep hands‑on product, technical, and customer fluency
  • You’ve raised the product bar for a team, with clear prioritization, sharp product decisions, and PMs who can explain the why behind their roadmap
  • A data‑driven approach to decisions, including partnering with product analytics to define the right metrics in order to connect builder tooling to activation, retention, and churn, even without a direct revenue line
  • Experience with growth loops, experimentation frameworks, or PLG motions for developer tools
  • Genuine passion for AI and developer experience. You are excited by how builders are working with AI and agents today, and you have a point of view on where agentic development is going
  • Real‑world experience building products for builders and developers, with a firsthand feel for their pain and what moves the needle
  • Familiarity with builder‑focused go‑to‑market, including messaging, positioning, and what it teams to market to a technical audience
  • Deep technical credibility to engage confidently on DevEx, client libraries, distributed systems, and developer tooling (e.g., reviewing code and docs to evaluate how an integration’s architecture handles patterns and how that impacts the builder experience)
  • Experience building partnerships with external organizations, such as open source projects, platform companies, or technology partners, while ensuring that internal teams, like partnerships, product marketing, and developer relations, are appropriately engaged
  • Equally effective in an executive review as in a working session with engineers, with experience getting great products built inside a company of meaningful scale
Success Measures

Within 30 days:

  • Develop a deep understanding of the AI Builder Experience Frameworks portfolio: each integration, who uses it and what it takes to keep it healthy
  • Dive deep into the full MongoDB tech stack, from core database to Atlas
  • Build working relationships with your engineering, product marketing, and partner counterparts
  • Get to know your team: understand their strengths, development goals, and where they need support

Within 60 days:

  • Put the team’s operating engine in place, with clear prioritization and communication standards across the portfolio
  • Evolve the existing portfolio strategy for the AI Builder Experience Frameworks portfolio that balances customer‑driven investments with a proactive arm for emerging frameworks and trends
  • Actively participate in hiring, performance conversations, and team development activities

Within 90 days:

  • Have the operating engine working, with PMs making clear product calls and stakeholders knowing what the team is building and why
  • Turn the evolved portfolio strategy into a roadmap, and ship the first work that reflects meaningful improvements across the portfolio that demonstrably improve builder activation and satisfaction
  • Be recognized as a cross‑functional leader who engineering, marketing, and partners trust and want to work with
  • Lead performance reviews and individual development plan updates with each PM on the team
