Job summary

Gen II Fund Services in Guernsey is seeking an experienced client onboarding and portfolio administration lead. You will onboard new clients, migrate data, supervise an administration team, and develop relationships to promote Gen II's services.

You will ensure adherence to procedures, manage fees and capital activity, drive adoption of new technologies, and cooperate with intermediaries and regulators.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years in the industry; knowledge of private equity structures preferred.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role.
  • Experience developing and coaching others.
  • Strong understanding of local finance industry, legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven performance management of a team.
  • Entitled to work in Guernsey.

Job description

Within this role you will be responsible for assisting with the onboarding and migration of a new client, whilst working with a team of administrators to ensure the provision of a professional and first-class service to team clients. You will also maintain and develop relationships with clients and to promote the positive image of Gen II through the professional application of services and knowledge. To be responsible for the administration of a portfolio of complex and key clients in line with the defined business activities.

What you’ll be doing
  • Responsibility for a portfolio of clients (including complex and key clients)
  • Oversight of the administration team
  • Responsibility for the financial management of the team
  • Ensuring team adherence to internal company procedures
  • Development/enhancement of team specific procedures
  • Reviewing and signing off on capital activity (drawdowns, distributions etc)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the differing requirements/ processes for high-risk clients
  • Liaising with all intermediaries and external agents such as new business introducers, legal advisors, auditors and the GFSC in respect of team clients
  • Liaising with new clients, business introducers and intermediaries
  • Assisting with the client acceptance process for new clients
  • Leading and driving business change including driving adoption of new technologies
  • Involvement with Group projects as either a member of a committee or as team leader
  • Development of training
  • Coaching team in relation to client activities, Gen II procedures and the local regulatory environment
  • Coaching team in relation to time management, financial management and prioritisation skills
  • Ensuring that all clients are invoiced the correct frequency and amount
  • Monitoring and developing strategies to improve recoverability and profitability
  • Ensuring fee arrangements are appropriate and remain so
  • Monitoring and managing aged debts for team
  • Assisting with the review of accounts/financial statements
The ideal background for this role:
  • 6 years’ relevant industry experience, knowledge of private equity structures is preferred
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role
  • Experience of developing and coaching others
  • A comprehensive and detailed understanding of local finance industry, legislation and regulatory requirements in which we operate
  • Performance management of a team
  • Entitled to work in Guernsey
Role Location/Hybrid Schedule

This role is based our Guernsey office. Although the nature of most of the roles within Gen II cannot be classed as totally flexible, there is scope in some cases for a form of Agile Working. The different ways in which Agile Working can be undertaken is dependent on the demands and needs of the business, the office space available and the individual’s preferences and circumstances.
