Stride, Inc. is seeking a Manager of Platform Development to partner with product management and stakeholders to lead technology direction and deliver strategic software for the Curriculum Experience, serving full-time students in K–12.
The role oversees platform engineering teams, manages both FTEs and contractors, champions CI/CD, cloud architecture on AWS, and drives innovations while aligning technology with business goals.
Partners with technical product management and other key business stakeholders to lead the technology direction, facilitate key technical decision points, and deliver products. The position aligns technology to business strategy and proactively drives a technical direction throughout the organization. The Manager will oversee the platform engineering teams responsible for our Curriculum Experience where our full‑time students in K to 12 go to school every day.

Partners with technical product management and other key business stakeholders to lead the technology direction, facilitate key technical decision points, and deliver products. Interfaces with other engineering groups and enterprise architecture; collaborate on integration projects, best practices, and the introduction of new technologies. Commits to roadmaps with capabilities and timelines, with a proven track record for new product and technology evaluation and introduction Aligns technology to business strategy, and proactively drives a technical direction throughout the organization Adopts a Continuous Integration/Deployment (CI/CD) methodology and institutes a frequent release cadence. Manages multiple team(s) consisting of Software Engineers, Quality Assurance Engineers, and DevOps. Oversees both fulltime and contract resources. Leads and mentors engineering team members Have an innovation mindset to product development, engineering, and development processes and provide thought leadership and information dissemination in this area.
Directly supervises 5 or more Full-time Equivalent (FTE) regular employees and/or contractors.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or a related field AND Three (3) years’ proven experience in software engineering leadership roles AND Strong engineering delivery and execution track record, with proven experience around the complete lifecycle of product development OR An equivalent combination of education and experience

Stride, Inc. considers a person’s education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position’s work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee’s salary level. Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position’s level and expected contribution, and the employee’s benefits elections. Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range. We anticipate the salary range to be $93,328.50- $150,000.00. An individual’s compensation can vary based on several factors which include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions. Eligible employees may receive a bonus. Stride offers a robust benefits package for eligible employees that can include health benefits, retirement contributions, and paid time off.
