LyondellBasell is seeking a Senior Finance Manager for the BLO site in Pasadena, TX to lead cost accounting, forecasting, and internal controls. This role serves as the primary finance partner to the Site Manager and site leadership, driving profitable and safe operations.

The role requires 10+ years in manufacturing accounting, strong budgeting/forecasting skills, SAP/BI expertise, and the ability to influence across functions. Travel may be required to support site initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related business discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in financial, cost, operational, or manufacturing accounting roles.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing operations or industrial environments.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a member of the BLO Site Leadership Team, providing financial guidance and business insights to support operational and strategic decisions.
  • Lead the annual budget, performance planning, and long-range planning (LRP/asset strategy) processes for the site.
  • Coordinate monthly forecast updates and communicate risks and opportunities to leadership.
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial performance reviews for site and business leadership.
  • Provide analysis and recommendations related to manufacturing costs, productivity, margin improvement, and profitability initiatives.
  • Support site capital management processes, including project justification, capital tracking, post-audits, and coordination with Capital Administration.
  • Ensure compliance with internal control requirements, SOX standards, and company financial policies.
  • Partner with Inventory Accounting, General Accounting, and Supply Chain to ensure accurate financial reporting and control execution.
  • Lead site cost analysis activities, including fixed and variable cost classification, benchmarking, productivity tracking, and variance analysis.
  • Provide financial support for plant turnarounds, maintenance events, and major operational improvement initiatives.
  • Support working capital optimization efforts, including inventory management and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits impacting the site.
  • Develop, coach, and lead one finance professional while fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Review and Approve value enhancement initiatives.
  • Act as the site's financial conscience by ensuring decisions appropriately balance operational needs, compliance requirements, and financial performance objectives.
  • Serve as a member of the Manufacturing Control Leadership Team, driving continuous improvement initiatives across sites.

Responsible for the cost accounting, analysis, reporting, forecasting, and internal control coordination activities for the BLO manufacturing site. This position is a key member of the BLO Site Leadership Team and serves as the primary finance business partner to the Site Manager and site leadership.

The role plays a critical part in manufacturing decision support byprovidingfinancial insight, analysis, and recommendations that support safe, reliable, and profitable operations. The incumbent will lead one site finance professional and coordinate finance-related activities across multiple corporate functions to ensure effective business performance, compliance, and strong financial stewardship.

This position routinely interacts with Manufacturing Leadership, Segment Controllers, Supply Chain, Capital Administration, Inventory Accounting, and other Finance teams to drive performance and support strategicobjectives. Based on operational and financial analysis, the role influences decision-making while helping the organization balance opportunity, risk, and resource allocation.

A Day in the Life

This role serves as the key liaison between Manufacturing and Finance and requires close collaboration with site leadership as well as corporate finance and support functions.

You Bring This Value
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related business discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in financial, cost, operational, or manufacturing accounting roles.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting manufacturing operations or industrial environments.
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, cost accounting, and internal controls.
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools, preferably SAP and Business Warehouse.
  • Ability to independently solve complex business issues with limited supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA, CMA, MBA, or other advanced business certification.
  • Previous people leadership experience.
  • Experience supporting capital project evaluation and manufacturing turnaround activities.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing performance drivers, operational excellence concepts, and productivity measurement.
  • Ability to influence and challenge stakeholders appropriately while maintaining strong business partnerships.Experience working in matrix organizations and cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop finance talent.
  • Experience presenting to senior leaders and facilitating business performance discussions.
