Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Manager of Planning to lead demand planning, forecasting, and client care for select accounts at our Georgia site. You will develop and execute site-level reporting, support operations to meet service levels, and identify growth opportunities with customers.

The role requires 4+ years in complex demand planning, strong BI and MS Office skills, and a track record of managing teams. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

• 4 years of experience with complex demand planning.
• Experience deploying BI solutions (Power BI, Tableau, Cognos or equivalent).
• Advanced skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio).
• Working knowledge of statistical methods, forecasting and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead/direct planning-related functions of the distribution center, including inbound/outbound planning and inventory optimization.
• Develop and execute operational level reporting for site leadership and clients.
• Support Operations teams to meet service level standards and contractual obligations.
• Identify growth opportunities with current customers and promote enhanced services or cost savings.
• Track and maintain planning data; deploy planning-based metrics for efficiency.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities through planning-driven CI initiatives.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Lead/direct planning-related functions of the distribution center, e.g., plan and schedule inbound receipts and outbound shipments, replenishment activities, inventory slotting, capacity analysis, order prioritization and expedite processing
• Develop and execute operational level reporting for site level leadership team and the client
• Support Operations teams to ensure service level standards are met; adhere to all contractual obligations and ensure client compliance
• Identify growth opportunities with current customers by promoting enhanced services and/or cost savings to the customer, partner with site leadership in all customer visits, conference calls and problem-solving efforts
• Track, record and maintain planning and operations-related data; deploy planning-based metrics to ensure optimized operational efficiencies
• Support the identification and deployment of cost‑saving initiatives through deployment of planning based continuous improvement initiatives within the site
• Handle all direct reports, including interviewing, hiring, onboarding, setting expectations, training and development, conducting performance reviews, etc.

What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

• 4 years of experience with complex demand planning activities
• Experience utilizing and deploying solutions within industry leading business intelligence solutions (Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Cognos, or equivalent)
• Advanced skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio)
• Working knowledge of statistical methods, mathematical techniques and related analytical tools, including forecasting and projections

It’d be great if you also have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Management or other related field
• Working knowledge/understanding of SQL or similar programing languages
• 4 years of managerial/supervisory experience
• APICS certification
• Experience in Lean manufacturing principles
• Warehousing or Third-Party Logistics (3PL) experience
• Experience in quality, inventory, data mining and problem-solving
• Experience in an AS9100 or ISO environment
