Job summary

Venture Global LNG in Plaquemines, LA, is seeking a Manager, Pipeline Crisis & Emergency Management to lead emergency preparedness, incident management, and continuous improvement across pipeline and modular yard facilities.

Reporting to the Director of CEM, you will translate strategy into programs, oversee training and drills, coordinate with operations, HSSE, regulatory agencies, and emergency responders to protect people, assets, and the environment.

Qualifications

  • Five or more years in emergency response or related high-hazard environments.

Responsibilities

  • Implement corporate Crisis & Emergency Management standards across assigned facilities.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve emergency response plans, procedures, and tools.
  • Conduct readiness assessments to identify gaps in planning, training, equipment, and response capability.
  • Track and drive corrective actions to closure and elevate significant risks as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and corporate requirements.
  • Develop and sustain Incident Management Team (IMT) capability across assigned operations.
  • Promote consistent use of Incident Command System (ICS) principles; support incident response activities.
  • Facilitate integration between site response teams, corporate crisis management, and external responders.
  • Develop and execute training, drills, and exercise programs to validate emergency response capability.
  • Facilitate tabletop, functional, and simulation exercises.
  • Document lessons learned and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Oversee readiness of contracted emergency response providers.
  • Evaluate response resources, equipment, and infrastructure readiness.
  • Partner with operations to support fire protection and emergency systems reliability.
  • Identify and address response capability gaps.
  • Lead after-action reviews for incidents, drills, and exercises.

  • Analyze trends and identify systemic improvements.

We are seeking qualified applicants for the position of Manager, Pipeline Crisis & Emergency Management located in Plaquemines, LA.

Summary

Reporting to the Director of Crisis & Emergency Management (CEM), the CEM Manager serves as the senior Crisis & Emergency Management representative responsible for emergency preparedness, incident management capability, response readiness, and continuous improvement across assigned Pipeline and OFE/Modular Yard organizations and facilities.

This role provides leadership for the development, implementation, and sustainment of emergency management programs by translating corporate Crisis & Emergency Management strategy, standards, and governance into effective organizational execution. The CEM Manager serves as a critical link between Corporate Crisis & Emergency Management and assigned operating organizations, ensuring operational realities, emerging risks, lessons learned, and readiness gaps continuously strengthen Venture Global’s overall Crisis & Emergency Management Program.

The CEM Manager partners closely with Pipeline and OFE/Modular Yard Leadership, Operations, HSSE, Maintenance, Regulatory/Compliance, LNG Terminal Leadership, contracted emergency response providers, mutual aid organizations, regulatory agencies, and local emergency management organizations to build and sustain highly capable emergency preparedness and incident management programs that protect people, communities, the environment, assets, and business continuity.

The Manager is empowered to identify and communicate emergency preparedness and response capability gaps, recommend and coordinate corrective actions, and escalation significant or unresolved readiness risks through Crisis & Emergency Management and appropriate organizational leadership.

General Description Duties & Responsibilities
Emergency Preparedness & Program Management
  • Implement corporate Crisis & Emergency Management standards across assigned facilities.

  • Facilitate integration between site response teams, corporate crisis management, and external responders.
Training, Drills & Exercises
  • Develop and execute training, drills, and exercise programs to validate emergency response capability.
  • Facilitate tabletop, functional, and simulation exercises.
  • Document lessons learned and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Provide IC S and emergency response training as needed.
Emergency Response Capability & Contractors
  • Oversee readiness of contracted emergency response providers.
  • Evaluate response resources, equipment, and infrastructure readiness.
  • Partner with operations to support fire protection and emergency systems reliability.
  • Identify and address response capability gaps.
Continuous Improvement & After-Action Reviews

Qualifications
Required Experience
  • Five or more years of experience in emergency response, emergency management, fire service, industrial safety, EHS, or related experience in a high-hazard industrial environment.
  • Working knowledge of Incident Command System (ICS/NIMS) and emergency management principles.
  • Demonstrated experience leading emergency preparedness, incident response, drills, exercises, or cross-functional emergency management initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess organizational readiness, identify capability gaps, and drive cross-functional improvement initiatives.
  • Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, facilitation, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to influence & coordinate across organizational boundaries where direct reporting authority may not exist.
Preferred Experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Emergency Management, Fire Science, Homeland Security, Occupational Safety, or a related discipline.
  • Experience supporting LNG, petrochemical, chemical manufacturing, refining, pipeline, construction, modular fabrication, or other high-hazard operations.
  • Experience developing or supporting organizational Incident Management Teams and emergency management programs.
  • Experience managing emergency response improvement programs, corrective actions, and/or organizational preparedness initiatives.
  • Experience designing, facilitating, and evaluating emergency drills and exercises.
  • Familiarity with pipeline emergency preparedness requirements and API RP 1173 principles.
Required Education

High school diploma or equivalent.
