Job summary

Methodist Health System seeks a Pharmacy Manager to oversee the hospital operations, supervising pharmacists and support staff across the system. The role advances the vision and strategic plans of the Methodist Health System and ensures high-quality patient care.

The candidate will lead the pharmacy department, coordinate staffing, training, and evaluations, and maintain inventory control while enforcing guidelines. A Texas pharmacy license and preceptor certification are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy.
• 2 years of hospital pharmacy experience desired.
• Licensed as a registered pharmacist by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
• Certified as a pharmacist preceptor by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
• Prefer 3 to 5 years in a healthcare setting.
• Strong proficiency using Microsoft Office products.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to provide vision and leadership.
• Ability to plan and schedule the work of others.

• Completes and communicates annual and ongoing evaluations to pharmacists and other personnel.
• Supervises and supports pharmacy personnel. Provides assistance to pharmacists and supportive personnel with problems related to patient care and their assigned duties.
• Assumes duties of a staff pharmacist whenever necessary
• Assumes responsibility for the pharmacy in the absence of the director
• Oversees drug inventory control. Ensures proper handling, storage, and security of medications.
