Job summary

CommonSpirit Health in Sacramento, CA is seeking a Manager of Pharmacy Operations to oversee daily pharmacy operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and uphold professional standards. You will supervise staff and coordinate with Clinical Pharmacy Manager when applicable to advance safe and cost-effective patient care.

The role requires extensive hospital pharmacy management experience, leadership abilities, and strong knowledge of clinical, operational, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Education: Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.
• Minimum 3 years of recent hospital pharmacy management experience.
• Active State Pharmacist License in good standing in the state of employment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor pharmacy operations and oversee clinical initiatives with Clinical Pharmacy Manager as applicable.
• Assist in performance evaluation and competency assessment of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
• Supervise the purchasing, storing, preparation, and dispensing of all medications and parenteral products in compliance with state, federal (340B), USP Chapter and guidelines, department policies, and manufacturer’s guidelines.
• Collaborate with health care providers to individualize medication therapies to promote safe, efficacious, and cost-effective patient care following best practices and evidence-based guidelines.
• Keep abreast of all laws, regulations, and practice site policies regarding hospital pharmacy practice and represent the institution with regulatory agencies.

Job Summary and Responsibilities*

As our Manager of Pharmacy Operations, you will help the pharmacy department manage pharmacy operations so they can uphold the ethics of the profession of pharmacy.

Every day you will supervise and manage the operational functions of the pharmacy. You will be expected to ensure regulatory compliance, staff oversight, and efficient medication management.

To be successful in this role, you will have extensive experience in hospital pharmacy management and a deep understanding of clinical, operational, and regulatory pharmacy standards.

Job Requirements*

Required

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of recent pharmacy (or similar) work experience.
• Licensure: Active State Pharmacist License in good standing in the state in which the employee works.

Preferred

• Leadership/Education: Minimum of 1 year in a leadership position or pharmacy residency completed or supplemental Masters Degree (MBA, MS, MHA, etc).

Pay Range

$80.17 - $119.26 /hour
