Job summary

Wesco International, Inc. is hiring a Global Payroll Manager to lead the international payroll function across 50+ countries. You will manage a global payroll team, drive process improvements, and ensure compliance with tax and labor laws worldwide.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of payroll experience, including leadership, with expertise in major payroll systems. Hybrid work model available, compensation details provided.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 5+ years of progressive payroll experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in processing payroll for a large and complex organization.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.
  • Proficient in administration of payroll systems, such as UKG, ADP, Workday, SAP.
  • Proficient in administration of time‑keeping systems, such as Kronos.
  • Experience managing process and systems controls. Experience supporting requests from internal and external audit teams.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment, and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the strategy, setup and implementation of the International Payroll Project across target countries.
  • Support the creation, design and set‑up of the global payroll function, aiding in the implementation of payroll processes and systems.
  • Maintain consistent, efficient, and scalable payroll operations across multiple entities.
  • Lead a global team of payroll professionals in effective and efficient processing of payroll.
  • Develop a high‑performing global payroll team through effective efforts to recruit, hire, engage payroll team members, and manage employee performance.
  • Manage team’s effort to deliver on the department’s plans including delivering on team goals and budget.
  • Ensure team’s execution on policies and procedures of the payroll function to ensure compliance with applicable tax, labor and pension laws and regulations.
  • Ensure the team’s adherence to defined payroll process and systems controls. Gather required audit reporting and documentation.
  • Lead the team to deliver outstanding payroll‑related service to employees.
  • Manage day‑to‑day relationships with payroll vendors to effectively support payroll processing.
  • Collaborate with HR Systems team to support regular payroll processing, address issues, and maintain data quality, etc.
  • Collaborate with various functions – Human Resources, Benefits, Finance, Tax, etc. – to ensure execution on efficient & effective payroll processes.
  • Manage projects to support enterprise initiatives.
  • Maintain robust procedures to ensure data privacy and security within the payroll department.

Job Description

The Global Payroll Manager leads the international payroll function team and manages the team’s execution of the payroll operations across 50+ countries. Develops and manages processes to ensure efficient, accurate, and timely processing of payrolls while ensuring effective process controls and compliance with company policies and local tax and labor laws worldwide. The Global Payroll Manager will execute the global payroll strategy, coordinate vendor relationships and leads the payroll team in providing high‑quality service to the organization and exceptional experience for employees.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the strategy, set‑up and implementation of the International Payroll Project across target countries.
  • Support the creation, design and set‑up of the global payroll function, aiding in the implementation of payroll processes and systems.
  • Maintain consistent, efficient, and scalable payroll operations across multiple entities.
  • Lead a global team of payroll professionals in effective and efficient processing of payroll. Identify opportunities for process improvements, and lead projects to address.
  • Develop a high‑performing global payroll team through effective efforts to recruit, hire, engage payroll team members, and manage employee performance.
  • Manage team’s effort to deliver on the department’s plans including delivering on team goals and budget. Identify opportunities for improvements and propose improvement projects.
  • Ensure team’s execution on policies and procedures of the payroll function to ensure compliance with applicable tax, labor and pension laws and regulations. Requires global expertise and continuous research on regulatory changes and leading practices.
  • Ensure the team’s adherence to defined payroll process and systems controls. Gather required audit reporting and documentation. Provide effective and timely response to audit requests.
  • Lead the team to deliver outstanding payroll‑related service to employees. Develop strong customer service skillset among the team. Ensure clear communication to employees on payroll‑related issues. Use data to track issues, trends, and the team’s service delivery performance.
  • Manage day‑to‑day relationships with payroll vendors to effectively support payroll processing. Raise issues with vendors to gain support on initiatives and day‑to‑day issues.
  • Collaborate with HR Systems team to support regular payroll processing, address issues, and maintain data quality, etc.
  • Collaborate with various functions – Human Resources, Benefits, Finance, Tax, etc. – to ensure execution on efficient & effective payroll processes.
  • Manage projects to support enterprise initiatives.

Maintain robust procedures to ensure data privacy and security within the payroll department. Includes management of compliance with relevant regulations.

Ability to travel up to 25%.

Compensation Details $103,331 - $139,497 Annually.

For eligible positions, compensation may include participation in a bonus or sales incentive plan, subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plan documents. For certain sales roles, Wesco also offers a commission structure that provides additional compensation based on sales results, as defined by the applicable commission plan.
