Job summary

Mercy Oklahoma City is seeking a Manager of Patient Access to lead and coordinate department activities, act as a resource for internal and external customers, and ensure compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, HIPAA, and EMTALA.

The role emphasizes process improvement, policy development, and teamwork, with responsibilities to benchmark performance, implement new workflows, and maintain Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications

  • Previous management experience required.
  • Experience with software and systems used in the department preferred.
  • Previous experience in the healthcare field preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Self-starter, organized, and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate department activities for assigned Patient Access areas.
  • Lead process improvement and problem solving initiatives.
  • Develop and implement new policies and procedures to improve workflow and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to deliver exceptional service.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (Joint Commission, CMS, HIPAA, EMTALA).

Must maintain current knowledge of regulatory agency requirements (Joint Commission, CMS, HIPAA, EMTALA, etc.). Leads process improvement and initiatives for problem solving. Instrumental in cultivating a positive team approach. Participates in benchmarking to ensure that the assigned areas meet departmental goals. The Manager develops and implements new policies and procedures to improve workflow and effectiveness of the department. The Manager must perform other duties as assigned. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the organizations mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
