Job summary

GXO Logistics is seeking an Operations Training Manager to design, implement and oversee comprehensive training programs across multiple facilities. You will lead the development of modules, videos and schedules that boost quality, safety and team performance.

The role requires hands-on experience with warehouse processes, adult learning principles, and a commitment to 7S and safety standards, with potential for career growth within a global logistics leader.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of related work experience in training or operations.
• Experience with warehouse management or inventory systems.
• Knowledge of adult learning principles and training methodologies.
• Ability to adhere to the 7S program in a warehouse environment.
• Proven ability to maintain a safe work environment by enforcing safe practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop, write, maintain and coordinate training modules for QA, PIT operations, pick/pack/ship, safety, and WMS.
• Oversee development of training videos and maintain the training media library.
• Schedule training sessions and ensure facilities and AV equipment readiness.
• Create measurement methods for training effectiveness through tests and surveys.
• Identify required core competencies and address skill gaps.
• Train instructors and supervisors in training techniques and employee interaction.
• Define and implement career development plans for each training department staff.

As the Manager, Operations Training, you will provide comprehensive training and development programs to teams in various facilities. What you'll do on a typical day:

• Develop, write, maintain and coordinate training modules for a variety of specialties, including quality assurance (QA), powered industrial truck (PIT) operations, pick, pack and ship processes, safety, loss prevention, people management, warehouse management systems (WMS), etc.
• Oversee the development of training videos and/or films; maintain the library of training aids
• Schedule training sessions; ensure facility and audio-visual equipment is set up and that employees are notified
• Develop a means of measuring the effectiveness of training programs through testing, surveys, etc.
• Identify required core competencies and address any skill gaps
• Train instructors and supervisors in techniques and skills for training and interacting with employees
• Determine and implement career development plans for each training department employee

What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum, you'll need:

• 4 years of related work experience
• Experience with warehouse management or inventory systems
• Knowledge of adult learning principles and adult training methodologies
• Ability to adhere to the 7S program
• Proven ability to maintain a safe work environment by adhering to and enforcing safe work practices

It'd be great if you also have:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
• 3 years of management experience
• 2 years of training, teaching or related experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Creative and visual graphic design ability
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
