Memorial Hermann seeks an experienced non-clinical operations administrator to develop, coordinate, and implement policies, procedures, and goals to maximize resources and sustain financial viability across hospital support functions.

The role oversees staffing, scheduling, and monthly financial/operational activities, ensures safe, compassionate patient experiences, and maintains alignment with Memorial Hermann standards within budget constraints.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Must have ability to perform complex and diverse administrative duties involving procedures, independent analysis, interpretation of data and sound judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Formulates and ensures customer satisfaction through ongoing performance initiatives with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Manages primary operational functions for one or more hospital support operations departments.
  • Supervises monthly financial and operational activities including staffing, scheduling, compensation, and performance reviews.
  • Establishes credibility with employees, physicians, management, and external partners and customers.
  • Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to Memorial Hermann policies within budgetary specifications.
  • Promotes professional growth and development through mandatory/continuing education and mentoring.
  • Demonstrates commitment to caring for every member of our community by providing compassionate, personalized experiences.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Position is responsible for developing, coordinating, facilitating, and implementing policies, procedures, short-term goals, and long-term goals of non-clinical functions of the hospital system to ensure that resources are maximized and financial viability is maintained for the achievement of department and organizational objectives.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelors degree in Business, Healthcare, or related field or equivalent experience

Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

Must have ability to perform complex and diverse administrative duties that involve application of procedures, independent analysis, interpretation of data and demonstrate appropriate judgment.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Formulates and ensures customer satisfaction through ongoing performance initiatives with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Manages primary operational functions for one or more hospital support operations departments.
  • Supervises monthly financial and operational activities to ensure adequate staffing and scheduling; screens and selects staff, establishing appropriate level of compensation; addresses performance issues and takes corrective action as necessary; conducts performance reviews in a timely and effective manner.
  • Establishes credibility with employees, physicians, and management team members and outside business partners and customers.
  • Ensures safe care to patients, staffs and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
  • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency, supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
  • Demonstrates commitment to caring for every member of our community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences. Models Memorial Hermann's service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized and efficient experiences to patients and colleagues.
