L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Manager, Operations Management (Fit & Weld) for Canoga Park, CA. The role oversees first-shift weld and fitting operations, ensuring performance to cost, schedule and quality while guiding personnel across current and future propulsion programs.

You will lead work centers, manage unions and salary staff, drive lean initiatives, uphold safety, and support site audits. A US Secret Clearance may be required for this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years manufacturing experience; Graduate Degree with minimum 7 years; in lieu of a degree, minimum 13 years manufacturing experience.

Job Description

This position will be responsible for supporting daily activities related to the execution of 1st shift of weld & fitting (Stockrooms, New OC, Heat treat operations) for Aerospace and Defense components. The manager is responsible for the work center’s performance to cost, schedule, and quality. This management position is also responsible for the performance of those areas along with personnel in supporting all current and future propulsion programs.

Essential Functions

• 35% - Managing Work Centers: Manage the throughput of hardware in the work center. Maintain metrics of performance to help monitor performance to maximize utilization of resources. Coordinate technical support to ensure hardware velocity. Maintain tooling and work center readiness (e.g. safety, calibration, and preventative maintenance plans).
• 35% - Managing Union & Salary Employees: Direct daily work assignments to meet quality, cost, and schedule commitments. Maintain employee training, certifications, and critical skills. Mentor and support employees on career growth. Approve timecards and managing labor charging to ensure regulatory compliance.
• 15% - Support Lean Manufacturing & Process Improvement Initiatives: Drive process improvement projects to achieve greater efficiency, effectiveness, and reliability with a focus on reduced costs and improved quality.
• 10% Support & Drive Safety: Identify, report, and eliminate unsafe acts and unsafe conditions. Work with your teams to implement safety improvements and drive a culture that promotes a safe environment.
• 5% - Support Site Audits: Support internal and external audits of the manufacturing area. Drive root cause analysis investigations and implements corrective action on any findings.
• Ability to obtain a US Secret Clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years prior manufacturing experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior manufacturing experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior manufacturing experience.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in the State of California is $105,500 - $196,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
