Mary Rigg Neighborhood Center is seeking a compassionate, mission-driven Social Worker to serve as our Manager of Youth Programs & Social Work Services. This leadership role combines direct service with youth and families, program management, staff supervision, and community engagement. The ideal candidate is a skilled social work professional who is passionate about youth development, family support, and creating positive outcomes for children and adolescents.
As a key member of our team, you will oversee youth program operations (including an after-school program and summer day camp), support staff development, build strong relationships with families, lead our social work services, and ensure high-quality programming that aligns with our mission and values.
Key Responsibilities
Youth & Family Support
- Serve as the primary point of contact for parents, guardians, and community members regarding youth program concerns and communication.
- Plan and facilitate engaging academic, enrichment, and recreational activities during after-school and summer programs.
- Provide homework assistance, tutoring, and individualized support to youth participants.
- Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive environment that promotes youth development and success, with a focus on social/ emotional wellbeing.
- Assist with youth transportation and facility closing procedures as needed.
- Serve as the lead social worker and manage social work team. Provide resource management for clients throughout Mary Rigg. Provide trauma-informed support and intervention for youth experiencing social, emotional, behavioral, or family challenges.
- Partner with parents, schools, and community agencies to connect youth and families with needed resources and services.
- Advocate for youth and families while supporting positive youth development and overall wellbeing.
- Assist with crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and family engagement as needed.
- Open to providing professional counseling services (within the scope of licensure, i.e., LCSW, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, etc.) on flexible basis through outpatient clinic services.
Program Leadership & Management
- Recruit, interview, hire, train, and supervise youth program and social work staff.
- Create and manage staff schedules to ensure effective program coverage.
- Monitor compliance with grant requirements, organizational policies, and program standards.
- Support staff growth through ongoing coaching, training, and professional development opportunities.
- Ensure programs are delivered with consistency, quality, and impact.
- Ensure understanding of client psychosocial barriers and process to refer to appropriate services, i.e., clinic
Administrative Responsibilities
- Manage youth enrollments and maintain accurate program records for both social work and youth services.
- Complete data entry, reporting, and monthly claims submissions.
- Maintain documentation and records related to program operations.
- Assist with grant-writing efforts and program reporting requirements.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work (BSW) required; Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) preferred.
- Active Indiana social work license (LSW or eligibility to obtain licensure) preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with youth, families, and community-based programs.
- Experience in youth development, school-based services, family support services, or nonprofit programming preferred.
- Previous supervisory or program management experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care, child and adolescent development, and family systems.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency with technology, data entry systems, and program reporting.
