Job summary

City Mission in Washington, PA seeks a Manager of Women’s Programs to oversee women’s programs, supervise RA and case consultations, and support residential services. You will develop strategies to improve residents’ lives and coordinate with the Career Center for vocational training.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

This position provides oversight of the Women’s programs in the absence of the program director. This position provides program support to the House Coordinators at the Mission as well as the medical clinic and work therapy sites who have client concerns. The Manager of Women’s programs works closely with the House Coordinators to assist in delivering vocational services, education and training opportunities, job readiness training and vocational assessments to each of their assigned clients. This position oversees the case consult meeting and individual case consults. This position also provides supervision of the RA program and is responsible for all the caseload of the assigned dorms and houses (Single Women, Women with Children and Sally's house) In addition, there is the added responsibility of the After Care Program. Develop individualized strategies to improve their lives and support successful transition from homelessness to independent living. Provide client-centered, culturally sensitive treatment approach that promotes recovery, symptom reduction, increased coping skills and the achievement of the highest level of social functioning. Collaborate effectively with the Director of Residential Programs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• In the absence of the program director this position provides the following:
  • Provide Case Consult Support to House Coordinators
    • Weekly check in meetings with men’s house coordinators to discuss cases and concerns in moving forward
    • Assist House Coordinators with support and guidance to provide their clients with vocational support, resume building, GED classes, interviewing techniques and computer skills.
  • Provide program support to Career center and Medical Clinic
    • Weekly Check in meetings with this team to identify issues and provide support
  • Work with Director of Residential Services and Human Resources to address disciplinary issues and sign off on compliance and last chance agreements
  • Weekly supervision meetings with Director of Residential Programs to address concerns
• Regular duties and responsibilities are as follows:
  • Oversight of RA Program
  • Oversight of Case Consult Meeting
  • Clinical Oversight regarding files and documentation- primary focus on men’s team, but provides support to additional teams when needed
  • Continued supervision of Joshua House and Next Step
  • Uphold, promote and encourage, in word and deed, the mission statement and core values of City Mission.
  • Maintain the safety and security of the area and assigned group of residents.
  • Provide case management for each individual in the assigned group. Develop support systems to meet resident's needs by identifying and coordinating a variety of available services necessary to achieve independent living, self-sufficiency, and family stabilization. Interpret and explain laws, regulations and service programs to residents.
  • Use clinically effective methods that are rooted in Christ’s love and message with clients. Provides spiritual counseling and advocacy for resident's
  • Refer clients to outside therapeutic, social service, educational, and medical resources if/when necessary
  • Conducts comprehensive resident assessments to collect environment, psychosocial, financial employment, housing, educational, and health information as appropriate to develop a case plan.
  • Prepare new curriculum, conduct and evaluate 2-3 classes/week.
  • Conduct crisis intervention as necessary
  • Ensure men’s program residents full participation in all aspects of the program, including the Career Center offerings, vocational programming and training. Visit all work therapy sites including the vocational center.
  • Participate in disciplinary meetings, issue discipline as appropriate, and meet with residents in regard to the results of any disciplinary or service plan changes. Participate in treatment and/or multidisciplinary teams.
  • Meet established goals. Generate and maintain necessary reports and paperwork in a timely manner. Enter documentation into all Program specific databases.
  • May transport or accompany residents as necessary to meet goals of service plan.
  • Completes on call requirements of 6-7 weekends of on per calendar year

Aftercare duties and responsibilities

• Ensure that residents successfully completing the City Mission Program are linked to the services, programs, resources, and support necessary to thrive in permeant housing.
• Assist Aftercare participants in continuing their journey to achieve ongoing independence, stability, and spiritual growth.
• Increase the level of success experienced by participants reducing recidivism and improving the stewardship of the resources God directs to City Mission that we direct to the participating individual.
• Expand the number of individuals served by the City Mission and extend the support available as the individual achieves continued success.
• Instrumental in the development and implementation of the City Mission Aftercare Program.
• Assist in the selection of the candidates presented as eligible by House Coordinators. Perform evaluation and readiness assessments to determine the appropriate levels of care (LOC) and necessary resources within the community setting.
• Determine and support individuals as they identify a geographic area to reside.
• Take an active role in the identification and selection of an independent housing location as a permanent residence.
• Hold initial and ongoing planning meetings with all parties involved to develop and implement an Aftercare success plan. Ensure ongoing success through regular meetings and check in. Addressing any challenge areas to effectively address those challenges head on developing a resolution agreed upon by the individual and all parties. Identify:

• Establish and maintain ongoing relationships with volunteers who will mentor and support individuals participating in the program. This includes but is not limited to churches who engage with the program and support its success.
• Perform a comprehensive needs assessment with each participant, volunteer, referral source, and involved party supporting the individual in their journey to continue success.
• Assist in establishing a budget which will allow the individual to sustain ongoing independent housing and quality of life both physically, socially, and spiritually.
• Assist in supporting or identifying resources which will aid in establishing a lease, understanding tenant responsibilities, home maintenance, utility registration/payment, furnishings, food staples/resources, meal preparation.
  • Starter kit for a new home (cleaning etc)
  • Bedroom set up/mattress, sheets, pillow etc.
• Coordinate the move out day from City Mission and the move in day to the individual’s new home.
• Develop and maintain a community resource guide
• Hold an instrumental role in the development and ongoing coordination of a wellness monitoring program.

• Establish and maintain an ongoing Alumni Support Group for program participants which will create a community of support sharing value, faith, and encouragement. Connecting individuals to much needed social experiences.
• Develop and maintain a statistical tracking system to identify successful outcomes as well as to address areas of concern or need.
• Social and community activities or presentations as needed.
• Maintain all program documentation and agreements with participants, volunteers, and agencies necessary for program implementation and success.
• Assist Program Director with budgeting needs as needed.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to function independently and possess good problem solving abilities/act with good judgment
• Ability and willingness to communicate in writing and/or verbally with other treatment team members/clients
• Must be organized, self-directed and have time-management skills
• Assessment and treatment competencies specific to population being served
• Ability to work at least one evening shift per week.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
