Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Employee Relations/Human Resources or resort supervisory role
  • Strong knowledge of National Labor Relations Act, Equal Employment Opportunity, ADA, and FLSA
  • Consulting skills with leadership, organizational, analytical, communication, project management, problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle multiple complex and emotional issues
  • Experience interpreting company policies and procedures and implementing HR programs

Responsibilities

  • Create positive relationships with property leaders and union partners to ensure CBAs are followed
  • Conduct team member investigations including suspensions and harassment or discrimination complaints
  • Plan and manage Board of Review processes
  • Manage grievance process, conduct interviews and maintain documentation
  • Assist with interpretation of policies and procedures and contribute to HR policy development
  • Lead leadership skip-level and focus group meetings to assess organizational health
  • Provide guidance to leaders to address employee feedback and develop action plans
  • Respond to inquiries from labor law entities and conduct exit interviews to identify trends
  • Support restructuring and layoffs following Decker method as needed
  • Perform other job-related duties as required

Job description

The Manager of Team Member Relations will be responsible for ensuring fair and consistent treatment of all employees as well as interpreting and ensuring consistent policy application, mediating conflicts, coaching, and counseling to improve relationships and performance across the resort. This position will be a subject matter expert of the Culinary CBA managing all aspects including but not limited to grievances, and arbitrations.

Requirements

THE NITTY-GRITTY (The Essential Job Duties):

This role will work closely with the Director Team Member Relations to:

  • Create a positive relationship with all property leaders and union partners, ensuring that CBAs are followed appropriately
  • Conduct all team member investigations including suspension pending investigations, harassment, discrimination, and retaliation complaints
  • Plan, conduct, and manage all aspects of the Board of the Review process
  • Manage the grievance process, including facilitating the interviews and managing documentation
    • Ability to handle complex and emotional issues while maintaining confidentiality
    • Assist management and staff members with the interpretation of company policies/procedures/practices
    • Assist with the design and execution of human resources policies and procedures
    • Partner with operational leaders on leadership skip-level meetings, and employee focus group meetings to conduct regular organizational health assessments
    • Consult, support, and provide guidance to leaders to develop action plans to address employee feedback
    • Responsible for conducting team member investigations and responding to inquiries from various federal and state labor law entities
    • Facilitate the exit interview process by conducting interviews and identifying trends or action items needed to enhance culture
    • Ability to expertly perform the Decker method when restructuring and/or layoffs must occur
    • Perform other job-related duties as requested

    MUST HAVE'S

    • High School Diploma or equivalent required preferred
    • Minimum 5 year's experience in Employee Relations/ Human Resources or Resort supervisory experience relating to exposure to counseling applications/policy and procedure development/training
    • General knowledge of all areas of Human Resources including knowledge of the National Labor Relations Act, Equal Employment, Affir
    • Consulting skills required, strong leadership, organizational, analytical, communication (verbal and written) project management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
    • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws including Civil Rights, EEO, ADA, and FLSA.
    • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication (verbal and written) skills are required
    • Ability to handle multiple complex and emotional issues

    WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE'S

    • Previous Human Resources Employee Relations/Labor Relations experience
