The Manager of Accounting is responsible for coordinating and supervising the accounting and financial activities of the Treasurer’s Office, ensuring accurate and effective accounting operations. The role involves motivating and managing departmental staff, providing direction on issues, reviewing and reconciling employee matters, planning department work, maintaining standards, allocating personnel, selecting new employees, and making recommendations regarding discipline as necessary. The manager advises other county departments and agencies on financial policies, practices, and procedures, and regularly interacts with state agencies, school districts, and other millage agencies as required.
The manager reports to the Deputy Treasurer and directly oversees the Sr. Accountant, Accountant II, two Account Specialists, the Special Collections Coordinator, and the Accounts Receivable Department with the Supervisor of Accounts Receivable and four full‑time cashiers. The position has overall responsibility for revenue monitoring, cash transfers and deposits, and payroll and employee matters, and requires a high degree of confidentiality.
The position may be required to perform specific assignments as assigned.
