Job summary

SCA Health is seeking a Nurse Manager to oversee the Nursing Department, coordinating patient care from admission to discharge and leading the nursing team to deliver high-quality outcomes. This role emphasizes clinical leadership, pathway-driven care, and alignment with hospital mission.

The Nurse Manager will supervise unit operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and support continuous improvement initiatives within a 15,000+ professional network.

Qualifications

• Current licensure as a registered nurse in the state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• CNOR preferred for operating room leadership roles.
• BSN or MSN degree preferred for management responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Nursing Department operations and patient care from admission to discharge.
• Lead and supervise nursing staff; ensure quality, safety and regulatory compliance.
• Demonstrate age-appropriate care and clinical competence.
• Maintain knowledge of designated skills and unit workflows.
• Manage unit performance during assigned shifts and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

The Nurse Manager is responsible for the overall functioning of the Nursing Department. As a Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and coordinating patient care from admission to discharge. The Registered Nurse is responsible for assisting with the achievement of patient outcomes through implementation of critical pathways and in accordance with the mission of the hospital.

Responsibilities:

• Assesses, plans, evaluates, and ensures the implementation of the patient's pathway to achieve identified outcomes
• Assumes a leadership role in the provision of quality nursing care for patients receiving services within the nursing department
• Demonstrates continued competence in assessing, treating, and caring for individuals based upon age-specific needs utilizing a developmental perspective
• Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and competence of designated skills identified for position
• Supervises the smooth functioning of the unit on assigned shift
• Performs all other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Current Licensure in the State
• Successful completion of Basic Cardiac Life Support Course.
• CNOR preferred
• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing and/or BSN, Master's degree in Nursing/Management preferred.
