Job summary

Energy Transfer is seeking a Manager for Northeast Measurement Operations to lead measurement technicians across multiple facilities. The role focuses on safe, accurate, and efficient operation of gas measurement systems, with accountability for scheduling, budgeting, and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in pipeline systems measurement operations, a Bachelor's degree (engineering preferred), strong leadership, and proficiency with MS Word/Excel and measurement software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
• Preferred degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• 8+ years direct work experience in pipeline system measurement operations, including supervisory/management experience.
• Adequate knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, measurement software, etc.
• Adequate knowledge of current AGA and GPA standards and guidelines.

Primary Purpose: Provide leadership and technical support for Measurement Technicians.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide technical and leadership to area measurement technicians and facilities to ensure the safe, accurate and efficient operations of all equipment and systems.
• Set work schedules and delegate assignments for Measurement team.
• Maintain accurate gas measurement facilities and manage lost and unaccounted product.
• Ensure accurate and timely closing of measurement data each month
• Respond to requests from internal and external customers for measurement data information.
• Assist with developing Capital and O&M expense budgets based on staffing, resource requirements, cost estimates, objectives and goals. Continually manages and forecasts the cash flows.
• Work with the Technical Services Manager and team to resolve complex measurement data problems.
• Provide engineering and operations services relating to all aspects of interconnect facilities and other field projects including: cost estimating, measurement design, contract review, and construction management.
• Responsible for regulatory compliance and act as a company representative during DOT inspections.
• Provides training to make full use of individual capabilities and to meet changing system demands. Orients new employees as to procedures, policies, location and operation of equipment.
• Works with Measurement Technicians to improve their skills in all phases of their job requirements
• Foster a positive open work environment, systems approaches and disciplined execution of all assigned tasks.
• Manage personnel related matters, including providing performance based feedback, providing support and completing administrative paperwork as needed.
• Demonstrate and enforce the highest professional integrity, ethics and safety discipline.
• Demonstrate and reinforce a culture of regulatory compliance.
• Deal with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy and professionalism.
• Maintain a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public.

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
• Preferred degree in Engineering or a related discipline.

A minimum of 8+ years direct work experience in pipeline system measurement operations, including prior supervisory/management experience may be considered as a substitute for a degree.

Adequate computer skills (MS operating system, MS Word, MS Excel, measurement software, etc.)

Adequate knowledge of current AGA and GPA standards and guidelines

Adequate knowledge and understanding of turbine meters, PD meters, Coriolis meters, ultrasonic meters, and gas chromatography

Understanding of design, construction, and troubleshooting of meter stations

Knowledge and experience in safe handling practices of flammable gases, liquids and high and low pressure systems.

Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage crews at multiple locations and multiple tasks on a daily basis.

Solid communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.

Demonstrated ability to lead towards operational excellence.

Strong customer focus in dealing with engineering, field operations and other internal and external groups.

Must be able to perform all essential and marginal functions of the job.

Must be able to work with a team, take direction from management, adhere to required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules.

Ability to successfully perform multiple tasks with strict deadlines.

Ability to organize and prioritize daily work.
