Job summary

Google is seeking a Technical Lead (L5) in the Network Delivery Implementation to drive the deployment of large‑scale networking solutions in North America. You will lead a busy metro team, optimize processes, and ensure safety, reliability, and cost‑effective delivery across projects.

The role requires mentoring engineers, coordinating cross‑functional work, and translating business goals into executable programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 years of experience in network operations, including executing network diagnostics and working with fiber optics infrastructure.
• Experience in people management and project management, and experience leading technical teams.
• 7 years of experience in telecommunications or hyperscale infrastructure, including 3 years in an engineering leadership role.
• Experience leading, inspiring, and developing geographically dispersed technical teams.
• Deep understanding of IP/MPLS, optical transport, data center, wireless, and large‑scale network architectures.
• Ability to translate business objectives into action, with excellent executive‑level communication and presentation skills.

• Oversee and direct the handling of complex change request escalations.
• Provide expert technical leadership and guidance, leveraging a deep understanding of network architecture.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within NDI processes, identifying opportunities for automation, efficiency gains, and cost reduction in network delivery.

Your focus will be on cultivating a strong culture of operational safety, viewed through the lens of our customers. As an ideal applicant, you will possess a deep understanding of the large‑scale networking landscape, coupled with a proven track record of driving business process innovation that accelerates network delivery at scale. You will work within complex data center environments and a strong background in network technologies is essential.Individual pay is determined by factors including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $150000 - $217000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits
