Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a seasoned Healthcare Network Contracting Leader based in the New Jersey area to guide a team negotiating, executing, and analyzing contracts with hospitals, health systems, and national providers.

You will optimize provider networks, ensure regulatory compliance, mentor contracting staff, and partner with executive leadership to meet cost, quality, and access objectives across designated markets, travel as required.

Job description

• Lead a team of direct reports focused on negotiating, executing, and analyzing contracts with large, national and/or complex healthcare group/system providers
• Maintain and enhance the provider network while meeting accessibility, quality, and financial goals
• Handle dispute resolution and settlement negotiations
• Ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements
• Optimize contracts using negotiation skills and provider financial knowledge
• Collaborate with providers, hospitals, and health systems to achieve successful contracting outcomes
• Support cost-saving initiatives and provider network growth for a defined market or region
• Implement contracting strategies aligned with network adequacy, development, and cost management objectives
• Manage and negotiate assigned healthcare provider contracts
• Oversee, mentor, train, and develop contracting associates and specialists
• Review and analyze provider contracts to identify improvements and optimization opportunities
• Use provider financial and competitor strategy data to inform contracting decisions
• Implement contracting policies and workflows and ensure efficient processes
• Monitor network performance, cost, and provider satisfaction metrics and report to leadership
• Resolve provider issues related to contract terms, reimbursement, and network participation
• Build and maintain relationships with healthcare providers
• Comply with applicable laws and regulations
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• 4+ years in healthcare network contracting, including executing contracts with health systems, hospitals or national providers, provider relations, or network management
• 2+ years of experience managing complex Provider Network strategies and negotiating complex contracts
• 2+ years of people management experience
• 2+ years experience in Health Insurance (Individual and/or Medicare Advantage) and/or Healthcare industry
• Reside in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania or Virginia
• Frequent local travel for client meetings
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional working experience (bonus points)
