Ross Stores in Fort Mill, South Carolina, is seeking a leadership professional to manage distribution functions and optimize production plans. The position involves training and managing staff to ensure timely processing of merchandise and developing an immersive team culture.
Ideal candidates will have 5-8 years of management experience in a retail distribution environment with strong communication and interpersonal skills, and must be able to work in a warehouse setting full-time.
Accountable for the production/distribution functions of assigned area(s). Manages and trains DC supervisory personnel to meet established production requirements of merchandise through the distribution center. Executes production plans that optimize turn time and expedite merchandise through the distribution center in an accurate, cost-effective manner. Responsible for developing and maintaining an open, engaging associate relations environment which remains issue‑free.
Consistent timeliness and regular attendance is necessary. Job requires ability to work in a warehouse environment on a concrete floor all day. No unusual physical requirements. Requires no heavy lifting, and nearly all work is performed in a comfortable indoor facility. Routine deadlines; usually sufficient lead time; variance in work volume seasonal and predictable; priorities can be anticipated; some interruptions are present; travel or other inconveniences have advance notice; involves occasional exposure to demands and pressures from persons other than immediate supervisor. Job frequently requires sitting, handling objects with hands. Job occasionally requires standing, bending, stooping, walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, talking, hearing (audio equipment), and lifting up to 10 pounds. Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically. This role requires full‑time in‑office presence, including to engage in in‑person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback.
3‑5 DC Area Supervisors, with up to 150 Hourly Associates; 1‑2 Merchandise Specialists.
