Premier, Inc. is seeking a Manager of Materials Management to provide strategic support and coordinate operations across distribution, inventory, and MMIS. You will lead Distribution/Receiving/Inventory teams, oversee staffing, and educate client staff on best practices in supply chain and storage.

The role emphasizes implementing efficient replenishment, policy development, and KPI-driven improvements to reduce waste and optimize costs. Travel 1–20% within the US is expected.

Qualifications

  • Five or more years of applicable experience in Materials Management.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Supply Chain, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or related field preferred.

Manager Materials Management

What you will be doing: The Manager Materials Management is responsible for providing strategic support and coordination of operations of the Materials Management group and its activities, which may include requisitioning, operating room supplies, supply logistics, distribution, inventory control, receiving services, client services support, and the associated oversight of staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Distribution/ Receiving/ Inventory/ Warehouse teams – 40%
  • Manage staff and maintains staffing schedules/coverage and evaluations.
  • Educate client’s staff in the acquisition, use and correct storage of supplies and equipment.
  • Ensure client staff is trained on Materials Management Information Systems (MMIS), specific to their duties and responsibilities.
  • Direct and manage daily responsibilities and strategic direction of Inventory Control staff.
  • Manage Distribution/ Receiving/ Inventory/ Warehouse Function – 40% Manages Par Level management throughout all client sites.
  • Manage receiving, storeroom, distribution, and inventory management.
  • Manage the process for invoicing issues and investigates discrepancies.
  • Establish processes for streamlined reliable and efficient supply replenishment and procurement for all departments and inventory locations to include the Operating Room.
  • Assist with the establishment of policies and procedures for supply chain.
  • Coordinate campus specific needs, quantities, standardizations, etc.
  • Develops and implements methods and systems for improving operational efficiencies, and controls supply inventory.
  • Develops and implements Supply Chain inventory control best practices.
  • Ensures adequate supply levels and coordinates with necessary teams to mitigate risks.
  • Manages maintenance activities of inventory and par locations (Perpetual/Non-Perpetual, Clean Supply, etc.)
  • Manages coordination of backorder adjustments and works to eliminate stock outs.
  • Coordinates location specific updates of product changes; coordinate communication between necessary teams.
  • Identify utilization and waste reduction opportunities.
  • Communication and Reporting – 20% Develop and implements systems and controls to improve productivity and efficiency of materials handling operations
  • Develops and maintains Key Performance Indicators.
  • Create standard analysis and reporting to track inventory needs by location.
  • Identify key stakeholders and establish ongoing relationships to achieve highest level of engagement.
  • Maintains open lines of communication with the clinical staff to ensure materials meet the required standard.
  • Provides leadership, guidance and support to physicians and staff to develop their understanding of inventory control best practices to ensure operational and financial goals are met.
  • Communicate Inventory Control activities, results, and decisions throughout the enterprise
Required Qualifications

Years of Applicable Experience - 5 or more years

High School Diploma or GED (Required)

  • Communication Analytics Resource management
  • Knowledge of supply chain management inventory level principles and practices
  • Ability to optimize inventory functions to create operating efficiencies and cost savings
  • Ability to create KPIs for a team
  • Experience in managing front-line resources
  • Ability to effectively communication with clinical and physician leadership and staff
  • Bachelor’s degree BA/BS in Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, Health Care Administration, Business Administration, or another related field

Compensation

Premier’s compensation philosophy is to ensure that compensation is reasonable, equitable, and competitive in order to attract and retain talented and highly skilled employees.

Premier’s internal salary range for this role is $72,000 - $120,000.

Final salary is dependent upon several market factors including, but not limited to, departmental budgets, internal equity, education, unique skills/experience, and geographic location. Premier utilizes a wide-range salary structure to allow base salary flexibility within our ranges.
