Job summary

Sony Music Entertainment in California is seeking a Manager, Marketing to oversee artist campaigns and manage album releases while maintaining brand consistency across channels. You will lead timelines, coordinate with internal teams, and contribute to the creative planning for disruptive marketing ideas.

You will work with Digital and Commerce teams and Epic Records Marketing leadership to craft content, drive engagement, and expand direct-to-consumer opportunities for artists.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of progressive marketing experience in the music industry.
  • Self-starter who adapts quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communicator and collaborator with teams and partners.
  • Creative thinker who works within budget and timeline.
  • Proficient with major social platforms (TikTok, Instagram, X, etc.).
  • Understanding of DSP landscape and tech platforms.
  • Design and video editing skills are a bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Ownership and oversight for an assigned roster of artists including managing album and song releases, maintenance of campaign timelines and an always on partner to the artist
  • Initiate well-thought-out marketing plans with a focus on innovative and disruptive ideas and campaigns
  • Participate in creative planning to create big marketing ideas and ensure a continuous flow of content surrounding each artist
  • Set up and maintain project timelines across departments to keep delivery on track
  • Work closely with Digital team for Digital strategy & execution across viral & fan engagement tactics
  • Participate in creation of social and content-based storytelling assets
  • Collaborate with Commerce to drive consumption and direct-to-consumer sales
  • Create weekly marketing reports and brief teams on release information
  • Work with artists and management with Epic Records Marketing leadership on campaigns
  • Partner with artists, managers, and departments to evolve artist brands
  • Manage creation and distribution of marketing tools

Manager, Marketing

This role requires comprehensive communication and coordination both internally and externally in order to keep projects moving forward while maintaining the overall message and brand. This is a unique opportunity to influence how music reaches listeners around the world.


What You’ll Do


  • Ownership and oversight for an assigned roster of artists including managing album and song releases, maintenance of campaign timelines and an always on partner to the artist

  • Initiate well-thought-out marketing plans with a focus on innovative and disruptive ideas and campaigns

  • Participate in creative planning to create big marketing ideas and ensure a continuous flow of content surrounding each artist

  • Responsibility to set up and maintain project timelines including key dates/deadlines and work across all company departments to keep delivery on track

  • Work closely with Digital team for direct involvement in Digital strategy & execution across viral & fan engagement tactics

  • Participate in creation of social and content-based story telling assets

  • Collaborate closely with Commerce team to formulate and implement strategies that drive consumption with a focus on lean forward activity and direct-to-consumer sales

  • Create weekly marketing reports and communicate updates to brief teams on all release information and ensure results are communicated efficiently

  • Work closely with artists and management, in partnership with Epic Records Marketing leadership, for campaign updates and communicate goals and plans for each release.

  • Partner with artists, managers, and all departments to create, maintain, and evolve artist brands.

  • Manage the creation and distribution of marketing tools.


Who You Are


  • You’re a passionate music fan with at least 3 years of progressive marketing experience in the music industry and able to effectively work across many genres including Pop, Rock, Rap and RnB

  • Self-starter who adapts quickly to change and can work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

  • An excellent communicator and enthusiastic collaborator who works well with team members, external partners, and senior management

  • Creative thinker with a demonstrates ability to apply ideas strategically while working to a set budget and timeline

  • Proficient with major social media platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, Triller, Reddit and Snapchat

  • Understanding of the DSP landscape and tech platforms

  • Design and video editing skills a bonus
